IMG_7094.webpIMG_7100.webpBig win for Christmas - and yes they LAST! A regular bully stick is gone in less than 30 minutes with Asha. 30 minutes into this Beef Roll and she'd maybe eaten 1/5 of it! Thanks for the recommendation @JanS and @Rits!

Also, a side note to @Katyusharocket on your concern about SSA with your girls: both dogs gathered around me while opening the package - they knew it was something new & edible (no, I couldn't smell anything!) and it was something they'd never had so both were excited. I didn't have the sticks out of the bag yet and Asha growled at Reckless - warning R that she was too close or might get a stick before Asha did? Reckless backed off a couple of steps and I verbally scolded Asha with a sharp no. Made both the dogs sit to get their stick. Then they both went to their respective places to chew on their new prize. Just saying that things can escalate when you least expect it and you should always be quick on the spot to take charge. This is where all the basic obedience (sit, stay, place etc.) override all else and you can deflate the issue in seconds.

Also, we were able to tell the dogs to leave it, escort out the door, then pick up the chews and put them away for another time. Nobody physically takes the chew away, we simply say leave it so it's the dog who puts it down.

Here's to happy chewing for hours!

Looks like they're loving them and they do look huge. I still haven't tried them but that is the place I buy the bull sticks from. I had some in my cart when I ordered bull sticks last time but it wasn't taking the sale price off them so I took them back out again. Next time I order I'll get some though.

I bought some too after @Rits mention them. But I saw these smaller ones and bought them also. So far I've only given Annie one of the smaller ones because the big one is just so humongous it still scares me. :bag: LOL My daughter suggested cutting it in half just like the other one. Duh! I guess I could do that.😁 Or like @Ravenbird did, take it away after a certain amount of time. I still can't imagine her eating that whole thing in one sitting!🤢

Edit: Oh, and she loved it!

I use the big ones because when they get to the end I always throw it away. I don't want them choking on it. So with the smaller ones, the end is almost half that stick lol!
Nah, Annie did fine with it right to the end. They're much bigger compared to the chew sticks. 🤷‍♀️ And she does fine with those to the end too.

Ordered just 1 beef cheek roll for Pepper. It arrived yesterday and she loved it! She came out of her crate when I got home and knew I had something for her lol. She was sniffing all over the house, it was still in the shipping box. Let her chew on it for 20 mins, hardly made a dent! Plus, her belly seems fine, normal stools after. 😀 thank you for sharing these!

I've heard of these things and watched cautiously. Are they oily to the touch? Do they stink (to the human nose)? Do they need refrigeration? They seem like a dream -- out of my sample size of 10 -- I've yet to see a dog have a problem with digesting them.

no, no, and no.

In the house, I put the dogs on their "place" that always has an easily washable blanket or cover so I can wash it because Asha gets a really wet mouth when working on it, slobbers everywhere. I don't let the dogs wander around the house with it, just because. On a nice day, I put her in the front yard with it. I've given it to her about once or twice a week for 30 minutes to an hour at a time and she's still working on the same one (pictured above) - for a total of almost 4 hours now, way more chewing time for the dollars spent than a bully stick.

This is why I'm anxious to try them. I get the jumbo bully sticks and they probably last for 1 - 2 hours with the holder on them. Not terrible but they are at least $10/each bought in a bigger package.

I am so thankful @Rits shared the Bully Bunches Beef Cheek rolls, I just ordered another bag of 8. These two are getting a little quicker with getting through them; but they get through the jumbo bully sticks faster. I can give these when we are watching TV and don't have to keep checking to make sure it's not down to the nub like the bully sticks....they are both clever enough to dig out the nub from the bully stick holder IMG_6980.webp

I did get a package of the jumbo bully sticks when I got the cheek rolls, but I haven't tried them yet. The largest I can find in town only last about 20 minutes for Asha, so 1 - 2 hours would make me really happy!

I agree, the ones we can get in town are pathetic. Our fleet store used to have some nice thick ones for a decent price but they discontinued them and got some brand that is a waste of money.

Anything she covets she must take outside, she rushed to the back door immediately with her chew. Well, it’s snowing and she had to take her beef cheek outside. I tried to keep her inside, but no, she insisted she chew her beef cheek in the snow. She loves this chew and so far she’s been tolerating it well.
