Blaze and I were asked, at the Fall Classic, if we would go back to the host hotel and do a protection demo for some Judges and people from DPCA. It was to bring awareness to show breeders that they need to breed back to a working temperament and the dogs with proper temperament weren’t just aggressive dogs but stable guardians.

I see what you meant by working in a different environment! He handled it all beautifully and I hope you both got a lot of appreciation for putting on the demonstration. :thumbsup2:

Thank you for the demo, your time, your dog & the helper also. So many people have the misconception that it "just makes mean dogs". - Do you think it was well received by the DPCA judges?

I think many were impressed by it, a few kept asking questions wanting to know and understand more about working temperament. I am sure that there were those that like there cream puff Doberman’s the way they are and won’t want change but hopefully some see the reason to breed back to this type of dog. I did talk with Ann (from Cambria Doberman’s) a few years back, we were at a show at Purina farms, there was also an IPO Trial going on. She came down to one of the IPO vendors to look for some training equipment. She asked me about a whip for her dog, she said had a dog with more drive and wanted to breed more drive into her lines and that she was tired of seeing dead dogs being pulled around the ring. I told agitation whip will bring out drive but for her, she should look at tugs or wedges to play with him. I respect the fact she is willing to move her lines in that direction.
