Picky eater

Just a note of interest. Sasha has always been a picky eater. She likes her toppings and snacks, but can usually be encouraged to eat her regular kibble twice daily. Victor was working well for us, and she was turning into a bit of a piggie since her spay a few months back. Never overweight, but hungrier. This past couple weeks things changed. She was refusing the Victor totally. If we put a topping on, she would literally stand there and pick out every nibble of cheese, and often would put the bits of kibble on the rug by her dishes. She would eat eggs, or sardines or chicken, but it was as if the new bag of Victor was bad in some way. Note there had been a recall on another flavor of that brand recently. I finally went out and bought a small bag of the Blue Wilderness Evolutionary Diet. She loves it. Eats it immediately without snacks. I have always felt a dog will eat what it needs. I don’t have the time to pursue testing on that bag, but I truly wonder if there was something wrong with it. Anyone know of issues with this Blue? Figured that post lawsuit, they would be extra careful with their content.

FYI all Victor foods are recalled

I always wondered about Blue Buffalo…
They sure market more than most and make some good commercials.

She would be happy just to pull up a chair to each meal we eat!😂
I was going to say this too. Kaiser would love to be served his own plate at meal times lol. He loves trying everything we eat.

Back to the food quality, I do believe they know when food is off. Whenever Kaiser refuses some human food I double check the item. He’s known when a piece of bread in the bag had mould, if cucumber was not top fresh lol, when watermelon has gotten too soft, when a well sealed package of meat has gone off. He’s got the nose that knows!

I'm glad she figured it out on her own.

Oh crap, yes! I forgot about this! My husband went to our locally owned feed store (not a Farm and Fleet, but one started and owned by a young girl we've come to know) and she told him she was sitting on $5,000.00 worth of recalled Victor! And at the moment they were not reimbursing her! Such a shame! She has worked hard at her business, had twin girls born when she was in business only a few years, does most everything herself (husband works elsewhere) and she's got a great shop with lots of stuff. To get stiffed like this really hurts.

But wow, how great that Sasha knew not to eat that!! That could have turned out bad.

But I'm confused here. Is this actually Blue Buffalo?

Because like @Jan pointed out, I have never heard anything good about BB. I heard so much bad about their products from years ago, even cat food, that I stear everyone away from them, all the time!!

I've seen so much crap with our pet food! It's hard to trust anything! And if any of them screws up, that's it, I'm done. No going back.
