Well, after a whirlwind trip from Illinois to Georgia and back in 2 days, our pup is home! She's actually been home since Saturday, but I've been busy so I'm finally posting about it today.

Kaia is a sweet, goofy, bundle of energy, as one would expect from a 5 month old pup. She's adjusting to her new home very well and is doing fantastic with my 2 older kids (5yo and 7yo). Her interaction with the toddler (1yo) has been limited, as has her interaction with the cats. That last one is mostly their doing, not ours.

We're working on learning her cues for needing to go outside, with only 2 accidents so far. She's a vocal little thing and it's hard to tell if she needs to go out, wants to play, wants attention, or just wants to hear her own voice, lol.

We're also waiting for her appetite to fully return. She eats, but not nearly what she was before coming home with us. If we hand feed her, we can get her to eat a little bit more, but it's still not where she should be.

Here are a couple of pictures of her playing in the back yard near the chickens.

:spit: Well, busy goes along with a Dobie pup! She's a beautiful, bright little one and I wouldn't worry too much about her feeding, she will step it back up when she settles in. (don't get sucked in to handfeeding, could end up a habit you don't want) Congratulations!

She's a beauty! Congrats! I agree with @jazzies mum about hand feeding. She won't starve. She just needs to settle in. And be sure you don't post those ears too tight to cut off circulation. Enjoy her! She looks like she's a lot of fun!

No worries on the hand-feeding thing. The only time I really did was when we were doing some short stints of training work and using her food as the treat. She's eaten her last 3 meals with gusto, so I think she's settling in nicely now.

She's not my first dobie, but is my first one I've had to post ears with. I educated myself until it was overflowing my poor brain about posting methods, and it helps that I'm an RN.
