Lumps and bumps

I was under the impression that the “vegetarian formula” was just a flavor. That it still has all the proper nutrients in it. I don’t know why my vet would suggest something that isn’t good for him. Sigh. ☹️
Some people have deliberately fed a vegan diet 🙄 to their dogs so it could be worse lol.

Did the vet ever figure out why he was vomiting to begin with?

Hm, wonder if the carpet is the culprit then! Any idea how old that carpet might be?

I remember asking the vet to make sure it had all the right nutrients in it before starting him on it. So i figured it was fine.
They told me it was irritable bowel syndrome but didn’t do any specific tests to get that as a definitive answer.

Carpet is about 5 years old.

I have been saying that Kovu hasn’t thrown up since the switch of his food. Well guys, he literally just threw up 😂😭
Could be a fluke but just another thing for me to worry about! Lol

Oh no, but this is a good time to try something else - what if you grind his kibble and make it wet. Let it soak for a few minutes So it forms a slurry. See if that stays down. What was his vomit like? Just foam or was it his last meal? Maybe he doesn’t have enough stomach acid.

IBS would make me think poop problems.

5 years isn’t bad for carpet but maybe it’s whatever chemicals the previous owner used.

You read my mind! I just soaked his food in water and he just ate dinner. Seemed to have an appetite so that is good.
He threw up twice back to back and both looked like last meal from this morning. I’m wondering if it had to do with his atopica meds today. I forgot to feed him them with breakfast so i gave them to him around noon instead. Might have upset his stomach.

His poop has been normal ever sense the food switch. Before we switched the food, I’m not even kidding you he was throwing up bile 7-10 times a day. It was terrifying.

And the carpet isn’t too old but they had a lot of kiddos!!! Very worn down and i think they did have it cleaned before i moved in!

That does sound scary. The only time my male throws up bile is when he is expecting to get his meal and we are late to feed him. For that reason, we try to vary his feeding times and amounts so that his body doesn't expect anything, but it can still happen. In his case, I think his bile is extremely acidic because he is raw fed, so the bile becomes irritating and he has to throw it up. In your case, it doesn't seem to make sense. Usually a kibble fed dog will have less acidic bile. I wonder if you could add apple cider vinegar to his meals. Kaiser gets a tablespoon of it during spring and summer months. You could start with just a few drops to introduce it to him. Then work up to a teaspoon. Maybe it will help. For sure it can't hurt him. Apple Cider Vinegar for Dogs - Whole Dog Journal

Vet recommendations and dog food are not a good combo. Most vets get a kickback from places like Hill's so they'll recommend it no matter what.

Found a lump that doesn’t move firm to touch on Peppers top glute area last night. Not sure that’s the correct way to locate it haha. She doesn’t care if I touch it.

I am going to wait it out and see what it does. When she was first brought home I could feel her mircrochip, which moved down to her shoulder blade area. This almost feels like thats it and it’s on the right side of her body too. Maybe that’s it or maybe a lump from her being a wild horsey?

Thanks all!
