Did it leave yet?? Its still cold here. :bag: This morning was still - 20°. And at 11am, we are up to -1°! Almost hitting that 0 mark that they said we would get by noon. :thumbsup2: The sun is shining and while it is not warm, the sun on their coats will feel good! They have been locked in the barn for two days. We take our horses outside every single day. But on days like we have had, where it's below zero, with a dangerous windchill, we had to close up the barn and leave them inside. They were eager to get out! When they're used to getting out everyday, just being locked up for a day can get them rambunctious. Let me out, let me out, let me out! LOL Lots of pent-up energy just standing in a box stall! :D Bored too!

So out they went this morning to have a little fun in the snow. ..

I was! Especially watching my boy, Stilts, trying to roll in a drift! Ha, he got himself buried before he can try a roll!
Oh yea! Stuck in a stall is no fun. Even a large one. They enjoy stretching their legs and interacting with each other. Remember when a standing stall was the 'norm'? At least now most places have a 12x12 box stall, but still. It's boring being in there all day. They had a great time. :)

    You bet!

It was a bit cold on the fingers this morning taking photos though! And later, when the clouds moved in, it felt colder! I was out cleaning stalls and other chores about 3:30 and I had to go in my heated water room a couple of times to warm up my fingers! Then it started snowing. :confused-alt: I waited a bit but then decided to bring them in for the night. I didn't want the snow to pile on their coats and melt from the warmth of their bodies. Nothing like a wet coat on you when its 1 degree out there! :wideyed: :nono: So it can snow all it wants now. ;) And it sounds like we could get 3 inches of the white crap. :green:

I'm looking forward to 22 degrees tomorrow!!

When I lived in Maine we used to go riding on full moon nights in the winter. The reflection on snow made it as bright as day. And we went bareback, nice and cozy in the horses' thick coats. Magical!

Looks like they were happy to get out and stretch their legs!
Oh gosh does that bring back memories. We used to do the very same thing and it was right on this land before it was developed.

Back to open windows on the stalls! So much more interesting for the horses to view the world. :) And I love being able to see them from the house!

    Time to go feed!
