My 8.5 month old male doberman, Zeus, has a lazy ear. If he is at full attention and something is bothering him both ears will stand but otherwise one is bent in the middle. Is it too late to start reposting? Or would the breathe right strips work?

That ear does not look creased or broken, it just looks tired.

I would immediately put up in posts!

This has a very good chance for positive results!

So would I just post the one ear or both ears? We use backer rod and tape.

Other members with more experience- correct me if wrong.

I would post both ears so it will feel symmetrical on top of his head and not aggravate him as much.

You know?? I would be tempted to experiment with the Breathe-Rite strip method. Kinda looks like it may need to be longer to get down to the bell of the ear- maybe double up the strip to make it more sturdy?

    Keep us updated....

Thank you so much for your input. I texted the vet tech that works for the dr that did his ears and he said “Well I can put an over the top stitch that can help. Also breath right strips will help”

I would go back to full posting with backer rod on both ears and keep up on it for at least a few more months yet.

You definitely don't want to do that since it can make it over correct and flop over the head and I don't think he's ready for Breathe Rights yet since it's flopped so low to the head. Full support is better right now.
