    Calling all Outstanding Rescue Dogs!
    >Judith Fellton Memorial Award
    >
    >The DPCA Rescue Committee (originally called the Committee on Population Explosion, or COPE), was founded by Judith Fellton in 1976. This wonderful woman passed away in 2004, leaving an amazing legacy. The Committee wanted a meaningful way in which to commemorate her, and decided that honoring the achievements of an outstanding rescued Doberman was most fitting.
    >
    >The Judith Fellton Memorial Award is presented each year at the DPCA National (or mailed, if the recipient will not be present at the National) to an outstanding rescued Doberman & his/her human(s).
    >
    >Eligibility
    >Any rescued Doberman is eligible to be nominated for this award.
    >Definition of "Rescued Doberman:"
    >For purposes of the Fellton Memorial Award (and the DPCA Parade of Rescues), a "rescue" is a Dobe that is adopted, generally from a rescue organization or shelter. A stray that is found would also be considered a rescue. (All rescues are always spayed/neutered; so as to not contribute to the
    >overpopulation problem.) A dog purchased from a pet store or breeder, or a dog that is rehomed by a responsible breeder is not eligible for this award.
    >
    >This award is not only for achievement in performance, any rescued Doberman that has performed jobs worthy of honor, including but not limited to therapy work, search and rescue, or just the best, most faithful companion can be selected.

    >
    >Nominations
    >
    >All nominations must be received by August 1. You can nominate your own wonderful companion, a friend's dog, or a dog that was adopted from your rescue program. You may send up to three photos of the nominated Doberman. If sending via Email, please use .jpg format.
