We are opening a Hott & Heated Topics forum for our slightly more controversial discussions.

This forum is private, but publicly joinable by any member over 18. If you wish to be a part of this forum, you will need to go to your User Control Panel (Settings) and click "Join Usergroup". You can opt in to become a member of this forum. If you wish to leave the Hott & Topics forum, you may also opt out the same way you opted in by choosing Leave Group.

    Things to keep in mind:

    • Although this forum was created to allow a bit more freedom and individual expression. It is neither a no holds barred forum or unmoderated.
    • Personal attacks against other forum members will not be tolerated, nor will any type of "trolling" for a fight.
    • No racist, homophobic, or misogynistic remarks, including derogatory slang, be it overt or covert, will be tolerated.
    • Be respectful. This is harder to define, but will be moderated.
This forum was created in an attempt to clean up our public forums a bit. Our goal here is to maintain a friendly and family orientated environment, Where Doberman and K9 education is our primary focus.

We will also be cleaning up any off topic discussions by either removing them entirely or moving them to a more appropriate forum. I have changed the description of our regular off topic chat forum to reflect where most off topic posts will be moved in order to make searching for answers to educational post much easier. Currently the forum is getting harder and harder every day for a new member to navigate because so many conversations are getting way off topic.

I would like to ask all the members for there help in locating these off topic posts, simply by using the "Report" button when ever you come across a post going off topic. also if anybody comes across post with pictures from photobucket that are no longer viewable or have been removed by their respective owners please report those also. The staff members here will do there best to remove or move these posts or topics to an appropriate location in a timely manner.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation
    Doberman Chat Forum Staff.

And the Opt in option is back for Hott Topics..

Effective today 10-12-2012 the "Hott Topics" forum is a public opt in forum. If you dont opt in you will not be granted Post/Reply permissions in that forum from today forward.
Screenshots and instructions can be found in the first post in this thread, or HERE

Hmm... Is there a minimum post count requirement for opting in? When I go to settings, I don't see the option to "join User Groups."

Go to the off topics section.

At the top of the page you will notice a message saying hot topics is opt in only.

Something like "click here to opt in now" should be up there.

I just saw that link. Clicked it, and got this message:

Lets see what von thinks here. Did you look in the off topics section to see if you are already subscribed? Maybe you clicked twice?
Hot topics is a sub forum of off topic chat. Once you click on off topic chat you will see the hot topics link if you are registered.
Did you try the suggestions Von gave above?

Yep, I followed the instructions, but the "Join User Groups" button doesn't exist in my settings panel. Also, when I clicked on the opt in "HERE" link, I got the error that I posted two messages up.

Hott Topics doesn't exist when I look in the off topic forum.

looks like my "join user groups" button is missing as well.

This is probably due to the recent upgrade we did.
Hang tight and Im sure when Von gets back on, he will look into it.

That makes sense. No biggie. I'll check back later. Thanks for the assist.

Matt,I clicked my own profile and I don't have the option to opt out either.Thinking it's a glitch from the resent site upgrades?

Its got to be. I am sure it is a plugin, that got removed with the upgrade.
It was there before the upgrade I believe.

Although I never click that tab to often.

Cool. That makes me a "troubleshooter." Much more appreciated than the usual "trouble maker." :)
