I can't say I purposely trained this. Asha as a puppy though was always, always redirected if she picked up anything that was not hers.

So the other day I did a town run. 2 packages of beef ribs and I forgot my insulated bag that zips up. Asha was in the truck because we were going to practice obedience on the way home. I had yet a Walmart run to do. She often gets in the front seat when I'm gone into a store for a while, so the only thing I could think to do is put the treat bag next to the fresh meat bags on the floor board, so if she got tempted she might grab the treat bag instead. I hurried, but she was still left alone in the truck for over 30 minutes. Everything just as I left it. Truly a good dog.

Good Asha! It must have been torture for her nose! I bet she got a BIG party when you got back to no carnage, and some treats!!!

Just a handful of treats, which I do half the time when I come back anyway. I've left plenty of groceries in the front seat before, including some things I'm sure that smell good, but I always bring my zipper insulated bag when I get fresh meat. Several times she has jumped into the front seat to wait on me and there's 3 or 4 bags of groceries packed in the passenger seat and floor board. She never gets into anything (i'm knocking on wood right now). This time I just had to brag though.

LOL, I bought a barrier to go between the front and back seat but I have yet to install it.

Never. She gets in the drivers seat and evidently stays there. She's never put a foot on the bags that I've ever been able to see. It's funny, as soon as she sees me coming she jumps back into the back. I have a video from a few years back, I'll see if I can find it.

I've been looking at a Ruff Land but he's a good boy in there unless I leave for a minute and I was hoping he'd outgrow that.

Found a photo that shows this. Bungeed the wire divider so she couldn't come through the middle. It's one of those tiny "half" seats in the back (year 2000 F250) which I leveled out with a blanket- covered piece of plywood so she would not have access to the floor. It'a not wide enough for a crate! She never comes through the space between the door and the seat unless I'm inside a store. It started as a puppy and I thought it would stop when she got bigger, but she still fits and squeezes through. LOL. And she only sits in the drivers seat, I've never seen her in the passenger seat. I'm sure that's a Divine message of sorts...
