I can't say I purposely trained this. Asha as a puppy though was always, always redirected if she picked up anything that was not hers.
So the other day I did a town run. 2 packages of beef ribs and I forgot my insulated bag that zips up. Asha was in the truck because we were going to practice obedience on the way home. I had yet a Walmart run to do. She often gets in the front seat when I'm gone into a store for a while, so the only thing I could think to do is put the treat bag next to the fresh meat bags on the floor board, so if she got tempted she might grab the treat bag instead. I hurried, but she was still left alone in the truck for over 30 minutes. Everything just as I left it. Truly a good dog.
