    :(
Today our family mourns the loss of Maxie, our little Corgie/Tasmanian devil mix.
Last night about 8ish we had to take her to the vet,she was having intestinal issues.
She came to us sometime in early 1998,from an abusive home.A co-worker of my wife's basically stole her from a shitty person who kept her chained to a tree(as a puppy) to tangle in the lead unable to get water.A person who kept the puppy in a tool shed with Kix kids cereal and Chun King chow mein as the puppy's food.Do I feel bad about taking a stolen dog?Not in the least in this case.

Maxie was I would guess 6 months old at the time and losing puppy teeth.
She was so full of energy, there are no words. You guys think Dobermans have energy?Ha!
She became my wife's shadow on camping trips, the security bubble of Maxie was there always for the wife and kids...I was on my own;)

She was there wagging the tail and nose going 1000 mph trying to catch a scent of the new baby when we brought home my now 13 year old daughter. She happily absorbed every bit of the being dressed up by my girls, the tea parties, always there to "help" if one of them spilled something. She was there on my 30th birthday(will be 45 in April). She was always right there in the middle if Christmas morning, she loved all the wrapping paper.

She was a firecracker.Until she was about 11-12 you could call her to you, start scratching her rump real fast and it was like winding up a top.You could see the energy build up in her till you stop then an explosion of movement, bowing, bobbing and dodging then tear off into a zoomie like lap or 5 around the yard, room, hall, wherever you happened to be.

She lived a good life, the best we could give, when we could give it.She gave us everything she had to give, she gave it all the time.We will miss her. image.jpg

We plan to spread her ashes in the hills we always walked in,she loved running out there. She helped tons training Daisy off leash recall out there.Probably pick one of the high peaks with the view.

Sorry for your loss:(. It's so sad when someone who give you unconditional love and make you laugh every day, one day die..But it has to happen no matter how much we do not want it. The most important thing is that she had a love and a good life with you.
