Some foundation training photos from a recent seminar with Dale Anderson (so highly recommended!) of OTR K9. The Dobermanns showed up and showed out amongst the Mals, GSD, and bully breeds. Last photo from left to right is KC Chaney with Lord, me, and Kayla Martineck with Mista J (Joker). Lord and Joker are both Vex sons, different moms, but I am very happy with both pups! All working for first generation APPDA working Doberman line. Not pictured is Tai Nero with Shihan who is a Vex x Morrigan daughter also earned her APPDA EL last year. She is the second Dobermann to ever pass the EL. She is now training for her Level 1 (L1).

You'll have to remind me, or link information for APPDA - is it also a sport like PSA? or how is it different than other bite sports?

Love the photos!

Here’s the link for the APPDA-the American Protection and Patrol Dog Association

This sport had been rebuilt and revived from what it was in the early 2000’s, under new guardianship.
The purpose of this sport over other suit sports is that Entry Level to Level 1 is for the civilian protection dog scenarios (hidden sleeve bite, protect my business, atm robbery, carjack, etc.) the L2 and L3 are geared towards working service dog tasks (building searches, detainment of suspects, area searches etc). All levels require one leg to title and all breeds may compete. If this doesn’t convince you we are different, our top breed? American bully and APBT! NOT the Malinois!
