I really didn't know where to put this, but since it is a memorial, I think here is fitting. My daughter is currently living in Guam and one day while on the beach with the kids, she stumbled across this memorial. I looked it up instead of waiting on pics. It's very beautiful and I think all of you will like it. Be sure to check out the whole site. Here's two that she sent me.

Great post. Makes me proud to own a doberman.

AMEN! I have seen this statue before but with dial up connection I was never able to view the video...now, being able to watch it in high speed, I'm blown away! Chokes me up, but yes, makes me proud. Thank you, to all those dogs that helped our boys!

Great post. Fitting tribute to our fine canine corp members. Unfortunately I can't watch the video because I have dial-up. Sigh.:)

The legend should have continued. The american doberman of this era was obviously a serious working dog. I have read the details on what all these dobermans did while serving our Marines and it is astonishing that we watered them down so fast following WW2. Why I do not know. The ONLY dog breed specifically bred to protect its master became a showdog, most incapable of even a schutzhund 1 title nonetheless take out an armed enemy combatant. I only wish we could have kept the tradition going. And hats off to all Military dog handlers past and present. Real heroes deserving our finest respect and admiration. Does anyone know of any books on Mil K-9 corps activity during Vietnam? Were any published?

I so wish i could of went to the nationals... what an event it must of been..
