Amino acids and the importance of bioavailability

Having “acceptable" amounts of amino acids and proteins in pet food is not enough. Where are the amino acids coming from? Are they naturally-occurring or synthetic? Is it digestible? Does the body absorb it properly? How much?

This graph shows foods and their digestibility percentages.

The reason why some foods test so high in amino acid profiles is because companies have to add synthetics into diets in order to counter the anti-nutrients that inhibit or block the absorption of nutrients. If they had high quality protein from actual real food to begin with there wouldn’t be a need to add anything. Amino acids should be naturally-derived from real wholefoods.

What is important to note is a high protein diet without moisture leads to health issues such as kidney disease. Moisture or water is the delivery system for proteins and is an essential component quite often missing in pet food.

Answers has the most complete and balanced reproductive foods in their formulas: eggs and milk. The process of fermentation predigests all of our foods which creates even MORE effortless digestion and a higher percentage of full nutrient absorption. Reboot their regimen with fermented raw foods.

Another reason why manufactures need to add synthetic amino acids, vitamins and other things into processed foods like Kibble and canned foods.
It’s because of the cooking (heating) process will destroy vitamins, amino acids and enzymes.
