Dr Mark Johnson at Pender Vet is supposed to be the go to Dobie vet in the NoVa area - I think he works out of the Fairfax location. I don’t use that practice but several dobie owners I’ve met have mentioned him. (We are kinda new to the area and started using a different vet before finding...
I was at a hotel for a week and came across the movie Upside with one of my favorite comedians Kevin Hart (he owns a doberman) and in this movie he paints this picture. His boss ends up selling it as “new age art” for $50k. Good movie - I liked that he snuck in a doberman (that was the only...
I know you know your stuff but use caution when using blocking (standing in between the dogs and looking at yours). I had a similar situation but it was the other dog going nuts at my Princess, I did the blocking thing facing my dog and the idiot owner that was trying to get control of their dog...
Agree with @Tropicalbri's your sitter should have a contact form or create one for him/her with how to reach you, vet information and emergency vet information.
We did the same. Went on a week vacation after getting Shadow and having her at home for about a month. I left the ears down did not want to risk them getting wet, cut off circulation etc. Also I had a dog sitter all day. I think we negotiated 3 three hour breaks and the rest she had to remain...
Yes I always do toppers my Princess is a picky eater (Shadow will eat anything) and that’s the only way she will eat her kibble - spoiled yes I know I created a monster. But I don’t mind cooking for them. I just buy extra of whatever protein the family is eating and cook theirs bland.
I feed the same formula- beef and brown rice to my 2 pups. We haven’t had any issues. I like to rotate proteins and was thinking of trying the fish next. I guess I better read the ingredients on that one.
I think we’ve been feeding this formula about 4 months now. I was feeding Nature’s Logic...
This happened in the next country over from us in VA. It’s all over the news and FB. So so sad because all these dogs can not be adopted or fostered because it’ll be tied up in the courts for at least a year.
I always curled the lip under/into the mouth on to the teeth so that she would be biting her own lip. I would just up the pressure if she closed her tried to close her mouth and nip. She learned pretty quickly.
Don’t bother with a vet. We did that the first time and it was awful. I think it lasted about a day total waste of money.
Is the breeder offering any support paper instructions/Skype/FaceTime ?
Lots of videos on here and YouTube. Do you have all your supplies?
