I have a Melanistic Dobe!! This is Caine, his Father was imported from Germany, and his mother was a good size Euro Dobe. He was in a litter of 12 and I believe there were 3-4 melanistics.
he’s a year and a half and growing everyday. Great temperament and health.
Kendall Jenner has a Doberman as well. Fast forwarded all episodes to see even a peek of the pup, but nope.. not a chance. Also in the news making a big fuss (in Canada at least) her Dobe snapped or nipped someone, putting these poor pups in the limelight again. I can’t stand this. Why don’t...
Caine has been overheating as well over the past week. Got up to 46 Degrees Celsius in Toronto this week, terribly hot. On top of the heat our condo building was doing maintenance on the A/C so we had to do without. Caine was not loving it, to say the least.
Random photo of my husband and I’s cat Stella the day before we brought Caine home. She thought she was the queen of the castle until she saw the pup. At least they get along now.
We also have Caine at 8 weeks old the day we brought him home and fast forwarded to 10 months old when he...
Here’s us with Caine. We’ve recently found a trainer that will come to our home where most of or problems were with him! Now after two weeks of consistency he is almost a completely different dog. (All of these pics are from before training). After 2 days he LOVED his crate which we’ve been...
This is an issue my family had with our Dobe Caine. He’s going to be 1 year old in April, and we have gotten a handle on him and completely turned him around in about a month and a half. We’ve had trainers that didn’t work and for the longest time I blamed them, but I finally gave into the idea...
Update on Caine and his spectacular change in behaviour since my last post! I’ve spent a lot more time and energy on him and he is officially crate trained, and listens to my husband and I without having to command him multiple times! He walks next to me on walks unless I allow him some freedom...
Hi! I don’t think your question was stupid at all!
We have a male Melanistic Dobe who’s just under 10 months, and was weighed last week at 30.5 inches, at 102lbs, and they said he wasn’t going to stop growing until he’s 3 and. Half, and will be about 172-175lbs. I know that isn’t Dobie...
Hey guys.. I don’t mean to ruin the flow going on here, but I really don’t know how to post a new thread.. also, I thought this would go along, since it is a similar issue that @dogsbestfriend is going through.
Caine, who is almost 10months (and 102lbs at our last weigh last week) is CONSTANTLY...
Caine’s new sweater for when he’s chilly at night. “I call the shots”. Had to share. I swear, when he wears it he knows what it says! He loves it. No more shivering or whimpers at night.
Update: I’ve taken him to a vet.... To several actually, they all say it’s an ingrown hair that he just kept picking at and irritated.
Very glad to hear that news!
I now tie him in our old shirts so he doesn’t lick it, and he hates it! But he’s adorable.
Also, when we went to the vet, each vet...
Don’t have many recent photo’s with Caine, but here are a few with my husband and myself. The picture with the both of us is when we picked him up when he was 8 weeks old at his breeders house. Now he is 10 months old and we triple weighed him, at 102.8lbs! He’s a big boy and there’s one pic of...
Your boy is gorgeous! What age did you get him, since he was a rescue?
I agree on the Melanistic look! They’re all beautiful dogs, such a good looking breed.. but the rarity in the melanism really had my eye.
Very interested to see how big he gets! He looks like a big boy from the pics!
Gorgeous boy! Caine’s only 9 months and approx 85 pounds. I have attached a picture of his dad who was 2 when he mated! Beautiful boy, imported from Germany by his breeder when he was a pup
Hi guys, Caine has a similar issue... he has a bump on the left side of his torso. I have attached a picture. Can anyone suggest what to do? My husband and I have read to put aloe on it and he just licks it right off. Sometimes it’s red, as shown, and sometimes it’s his skin colour (due to him...
