Thanks, that's kind of what I was thinking, just wanted some others thoughts. Looking back I probably shouldn't have requested the Showcut. Since our boy Preacher has a Showcut I just thought it would be nice if they matched.

Im thinking the same thing. Mercy finished her 1st heat cycle the end of March. Im thinking maybe 1st of Sept, that will be a full 5 months. One of Preacher's siblings goes into heat every 5 months beginning after the first heat. Im really dreading having her surgery but I know it has to be...

I actually had more anxiety after the fact. Thinking about how bad it could have been. I could just visualize them up on their hind legs going at it. From now on I will carry my homade police nightstick whenever I go on walks.

How bad was your dog hurt ? Your story reminds me why I should always carry a club when I walk. I have what is very similar to a police night stick. Only had to use it once to push a pitbull away from my almost 14 year old dobie.

Mercy is the Birthday girl today ! Hard to believe she is one already. We are so glad we made the decision to get her.

Thanks, actually we think of Mercy as a little squirt. Mercy is 64 lbs, Preacher 101 lbs.

Thanks, I guess our Mercy is about where she needs to be. Its been so many years since we have had a small female that she seemed really small in comparison to our male. Our boy Preacher is a big boy at 101 lbs.

Looking at pictures I would have guessed her to weigh more than that. She looks really good.

Our experience has been 3 to 5 days.

Thanks, I might mention Preacher stayed around 95 lbs for quite a while then bulked up. He only eats between 3 1/2 and 3 3/4 cups a day. He just seems to be a big boy, he is all muscle.
