I have one Doberman who is a very natural therapy dog. She was not carefully bred, admittedly. Now I have one who was very carefully bred, and I am trying to get her at least familiar with the therapy dog world. We started tonight, kept it short and ended training on a high note.
This is my old boy, Toby. He can't see and doesn't hear very well. He wears the e-collar so I can call him to the house using the vibrate feature. He won't be around for much longer, I am afraid. Yesterday seemed like a good day to photograph him.
I took Katyusha for a stroll tonight to see what we could see. I took her to the docks since the lake was finally liquid. We met up with MIlo, a Bully of some kind that was probably 6 pounds when she saw him last. He has grown into a very well adjusted dog.
grabbed this from security cameras (more like dog watching cameras) so I could share what is happening every time I check in. The two that are the closest and tangled up in a cuddle are the littermates, Zastava and Dutchess. They honestly seem to have some social code between them that allows...
Yep, they do just fine. If Katyusha feels that Zastava is getting too much the upper hand on our guest too much during wrestling, she will go bite Zastava's back leg to give her some distraction, but nothing has ever been more than playing. We have had Dutchess for a week one other time and...
Oh, believe me, it's not my strong point being up there. Part of my job is to check fire extinguishers each month which lands me up there. I stepped out the door for the photo, but believe me, my non-photograph hand never let go of the door handle to get out there that high up. It would have...
Like Jan, I also live in Minnesota, but my landscape is more like yours, @Doc . Also, I love the Warrior Princess name, My older Doberman's Mother is named Xena and I think of her when I see your WP. Here is a photo from where I work. In the winter it feels like the only thing between here...
:hb: Happy Birthday Moo! I wish for you many more! Enjoy your birthday parade!
That flour handprint on his head
Nice birthday plates you put together for him!
I just got done making an appointment with one for Zastava. I am taking her there to be proactive after her OFA hip exam noted Spondylosis. As I understand it, it's something that doesn't often cause problems, but I ask a lot of Zastava, so I figured the little extra chiropractic effort is the...
I had some vomiting from Katyusha for a spell. It was during a time that I tried one of those no drip water bowls. Turns out she would get at the toilet if I left the lid up and drink it all and then it would cause problems later. I went back to the normal water bowls and everything returned...
I have a bonus dog for the evening while her owner is being honored for being part of the city's business of the year, our local vet clinic! Her name is Roo, called Roocifer if she is being naughty, but she is being great here tonight.
