Over and over and over again!

Train for mistakes not for perfection. Set your dog up to fail so you can teach her to be successful. I would leave the tv remote purposefully where she can get it. The remote is now hot if she touches it. Just as @Ravenbird said, turn up the ecollar,if she starts to grab the remote, just tap...

    Random ear question

Yea some Dobermans ear will relax there but perk up when alert and the older they get, they will be up more. Depends on the dog, the crop length and thickness of the ear leather.

    Seminar helper info?

I met him 10 years ago, we were both at a PSA Helper Seminar in Chicago. That would be a fun seminar if you get to go to it.

Laural is in Texas, Omnia Paratus Dobermans. If she is still breeding, I would recommend her.

    Toilet training - 5 months

I agree with @Ravenbird, I don’t do the bells myself. Just outside everytime the come out of the crate, or wake up, eating, training, playing ect… I would add treat once they go outside along with praise, mark the behavior with a word (good potty, go potty ect…) this way you can train them to...

Is this just a busted toenail?

Take him to the vet and get it cut back. This just happened to Blaze and it can be painful with Quick exposed. Here is Blaze that night after getting home from surgery.

The test that's losing it's purpose...

Yes, 2 stick hits for the 1 and 2, there were 4 in the 3. Most talks can be desensitized to stick pressure overhead but may loosen/ change grip once taking the hits. Some will actually let go and not reengage. On the other end dogs like Blaze get angrier when hit and will sometimes not out...

    Heeling disobedience under distractions

Congratulations on getting out there and competing. I tell my people all the time, it is not trial day but the journey of training with your dog that matters to them. We want titles, ribbons, trophies ect… they just want to spend time with us. You can’t emulate trial day, the smells, the...

My 4yo is fighting DCM please help

So sorry to hear but he is no longer suffering. They are a special breed for sure. It is never easy when we lose them and have to let them go. I still miss the ones we have lost over the years, they are all different but have a way of putting a smile on our faces and warmth in our hearts. I am...

My 4yo is fighting DCM please help

Sorry you are going thru this, we have been thru it as well. Not sure why you are looking at euthanasia. Prada was diagnosed and given 6 months to live. We let her live her normal life. She still went to training, got to play ball ect… we let her do the things she loved. She lived 8 months after...

    Puppy behavior

Is it one sided rough play? Or do both dogs play rough. If it one sided then you need to let him know that’s not allowed. If he can’t play nice he may just need to have outside time alone. You make the rules and enforce them. It is not true aggression if they get along most of the time. He is...

She ate part of a towel......

I would just monitor her if she is eating and going to the bathroom she will probably just pass it. If she starts looking lethargic or not feeling well laying around all the time. Stops eating and can’t poop you need to get her to the vet ASAP.

    Ashas IGP Adventures

The problem with people working their own dog on a sleeve is presentation and not giving the right picture. Dogs biting in the wrong area of the sleeve or not getting a full grip everytime. If sone wrong too much the dogs muscle memory will create poor bites or missing a grip do to the wrong...
