    8 week old puppy training

Bite inhibition is going to be fun if you only have a single dog and one that is that young! And yes on the petting while they eat. I do that all the time puppies on up. Better to do that while they are young when they cant really bite your face off than start trying it later when they can! :)

Mom already told me about their legs breaking and how much it can cost. She says they can break bones just from doing IG stuff that they normally do. They don't 'need' another dog around to be breaking bones is the way she put it. Agatha is smack in the middle of the Dober teen / zoomies age...

Random Pet Photo of the Day - 2025

At my last shop my breakroom had really good AC and I kept it cold as hell. (or roast the room out in the winter) Had a small house sized Furnace/AC only heating and cooling a single room so it did really well and could easily keep that room COLD (or hot) no matter what temp it was elsewhere in...

The birds, pooping in the soil I am growing food for ME and the girls in and the fleas. Fleas which doggies can get tapeworms from... Tapeworms are not fun for a dogs body and neither is the poison you then have to feed your dog to kill said tapeworms... If I can possibly avoid giving my girls...

    Meet Frannie

I got a trip soon to visit my mom and she has a pair of female IG's. We is going to be camped out there for a few day and I worry about my Dobermans getting picked on / harassed the entire time... The last time we visited mom had to pretty much carry a flyswatter around at all times to...

Timeline for accurate holter after spay?

When I lost my first girl to DCM it was pretty bad as far as her suffering was concerned. Not going to expand on that any more but am sure you get the idea. That girl went fast from the first signs of symptoms to really bad problems. I tested the holy crap out of her sister trying to make sure...

    Meet Frannie

I am about to get a trap myself and start dropping off any feral cats I can manage to catch. I don't really want those flea infested, likely disease infested cats anywhere near my yard. Especially not anywhere near my garden stuff. I will not shed a tear if the local shelter puts any down...

Ear / hearing issue with our boy

Am guessing you did smell the ears really good? Sometimes you can smell an ear infection before you can see it.

Just so you know - I 'reported' your post there. :) That level of mean is right up there with eating a pizza (while the dog watches you) and NOT giving the dog any crusts! :(

Other than the 'Come back with a Warrant' sign on the actual door - I don't do 'dog specific' warning signs for liability reasons. At the big shop have generic 'No Trespassing' signs posted in multiple locations outside the building. You can't pull be anywhere outside on the property and not be...

I don't know what it is about me but I swear those people home in on me like moths to a flame. Every pump at the gas station can have someone at it but when the car with the JW's pulls up - I am always the only one they approach. I always tell them the same thing - "Seeing as how I never go...

    Recommendations on adult dog kibble

Once upon a time I was an idiot and used my girls as a disposal for a few cans of corn that were nearing the best by date... One broke out in little red hives on her tummy. :(

Random Pet Photo of the Day - 2025

The city my big shop is in goes out of their way to make it hard for their USPS workers in that most of the mailboxes are installed on the homes or businesses instead on a pole mounted box down by the street so as to make it more easy on the postal person delivering mail. Great majority of the...

    Food for large breeds?

That and people need to actually READ labels / ingredients. Purina for example makes many different products and they are NOT all the same. The one kind of Purina that I used to feed mine (cause I was dumb and never read the label) contained the word Corn this or that I think 3 times near the...

The last rescue dog I had was a nightmare from hell. :) Rescued from a coworker that was about to kill it... After a couple of years of trying my ass off to train / educate / modify the behavior on, etc. I came to a realization. 'Sometimes' when you find a dog in a trashcan - You need to...

There also be times when the dog you 'rescue' is something from hell (that is ALSO infested with every single different kind of worm and parasite known to man currently). The dog that is going to cost you a metric shit ton in Vet bills and then cost you MORE due to the other behavior issues...

It could be any number of reasons that happen quite often to people. Sometimes life throws crap your way and different people is going to deal with it differently... Last time I moved and was needing a rental home I had hell finding homes that I could afford (in the area I wanted to live in)...
