Garden hose outside. Not asking them if they like it or not...
:)
(I did have one where we did the bucket of water and towel thing and it did get the job done a good bit more comfortably for that particular dog.)
You see it (how important it really is) pretty clearly when you raise littermates.
They came from the same exact parents but...
Require different levels of training in different areas.
No Guarantees! :)
If that had been ME - I would have punted the holy shit out of their dog the first time it ran up aggressively. If the owner can't control their dog - I for sure will and without hesitation! :)
If other dog owner wants to cry about their dog getting its ass kicked and call the cops my story is...
I watch closely at the grocery store around and just after holidays for canned pumpkin to go on sale. (usually after is when you find the best sale prices)
When the price is right I lay in on it bigly! :)
Dystopia expects sardines here and there as part of her meals. :)
Agatha about craps her fur pants every time the sardines come out. She is still adjusting to her new feeding routine here. :)
We had a thread a while back where a members dog ate something in the yard that caused a lot of problems. Several other threads related to members dogs eating stuff they were not supposed to and the owner having to deal with considerable stress and sometimes expense...
Scares the bejesus out of...
You could have two puppies that are exactly the same and give them to different owners to raise (in different environments) and guess what is going to happen with respect to what those dogs learn individually?
Depends on the owner and person raising the dog... :)
You could have one owner that...
Love (and prefer) that style of ears if I can help it. Beautiful dog...
My new girl Agatha has absolutely zero testing on random food treats found outside the house in the yard and a damn good nose. If someone was to toss a hotdog out there right now in the admittedly too-tall grass - She...
Was a similar experience for us when considering Doberman adoption years ago. (with respect to the hoops they wanted one to jump through)
Pretty sure that us not having any sort of fenced in yard area back then would have failed us instantly as far as their requirements.
The 'home inspection'...
"Any dog that has a percentage or mix of any of the above breeds" is the way they worded it on my particular lease.
:)
Pretty sure you know why they put that stuff in there like they do.
A big part of me understands where the insurers and property owners are coming from here and agree...
My Dobermans are specifically prohibited on my lease (in a short list of breeds) along with the liability ins policy for the place.
:)
Pro tip: When you bring your Doberman puppy home and get it set up at your local Vet make sure they list it as a 'whatever' mix. 'Her daddy was a minpin...
Best way to test your dog and 'prove' commands is with distractions.
That rottie helped make it a fair test in my opinion.
Both of my girls would have failed that same test under those same circumstances if done today. This I am sure of...
Dystopia would have laid down just like yours did...
I agree with you 100% that when you got a dog like that you is better off crating them (with nothing they could possibly ingest) if you can't directly supervise.
My personal 'underwear rule #1' here is 'If your ass takes off the underwear - That ass better be in the crate'. So long as you stay...
Agathas neck has healed up nicely where the other girl tried to rip her throat out at her previous home. Can't really spot any of that damage any more since the hair grew back but...
All of the other places on her face and head where the other dogs fangs poked holes in her - The hair did not...
Can't comment on the diaper cause don't know anything about it but...
Having had one that was a frequent pad eater I can share some info / experiences with respect to that.
Changing the pad more frequently helped a bunch here. Noticed pretty quickly that she would not eat lightly soiled pads...
