I'm sorry you live in an area like that. Have you tried seeing if there's like a dog walking group or something similar to that. At least then there'll be more of you.
^^^TO add to that... We have deer, squirrel, rabbit, turkey, etc... in our backyard. He has plenty of chase opportunity but has yet to bust through after something.

We used the underground invisible fence for ours. After we completed the in-home and outdoor training sessions him nor our other dog even get close to the border. They do NOT like the shocking sensation.
This is the exact one we have for Zeus. It has worked perfect for him! He does have to duck when walking into the crate but he has plenty of room when laying down. I also like the removable plastic bottom, which came in handy when he was a pup and having accidents still.
