My wife and I freaked out our first few times too. Just lots of treats and praise and he will eventually not even care. Just remember to remain calm lol.
After a month or so you'll feel like a pro and he'll act like one too.
Best of luck and welcome from Michigan!!!
Good to read the update!! She sure has some HUGE paws...gonna be a big girl!!
Welcome from Michigan!!!:dc:
Chalk up another for the Red team!!:woot::party:
Again never had the SSA issue and I can not claim to have had them both since puppies. We originally got Zeus and Moxy but she became very aggressive towards him after about 3 months, past the point of playfulness. Thankfully (at the time) my good "friend" wanted a pup for his fiance and he...
Welcome from Michigan!! I wouldn't worry too much about his interaction with other puppies at this time. Especially if they all are not up to date on shots. Like Raven said, I would focus my time and energy on positive interactions with you and your pup...and other humans of the household...
I too was led wrong by the "breeder" and we got a male & female from the same litter. While I didn't have to deal with SSA, I do still monitor their play and have to break them up once they get too rowdy. Strict rules and always under watch is going to be your best friend. Best of luck...you've...
Zeus totally does this. Never thought of it being a static electricity type shock though. Now that I think about it, I due believe most of these instances happen after a play fit on the carpet or zoomies around the house. Zeus is docked and his nub took awhile to heal because his mom was...
When I "rescued" Moxy back from my so called friend, she had one of these on her elbows as well. I can't tell you how they took care of her or her sleeping arrangements but I saw significant reduction in just a couple months. Now 9 months after taking her back it has completely disappeared. I...
God bless you! I am not familiar with a German Pinscher but that last picture of her is gorgeous!! By looking at the few before/afters, to me looks like you're on the right track with her...no matter the breed!!
Welcome from Michigan and keep up whatever you're doing. Best of luck!!!
To be short... our dogs have always had to earn that aspect of "free range" in the house. We always started off with leaving them inside while we worked out in the yard, then slowly increased the time. Then I would walk around side of house while wife got in car and drove away and I would do my...
Complete beauty in her eyes!!! She is gorgeous, our red female finally stopped gaining weight right around 65/68 lbs or so. She does look a little shorter than your girl though. Can definitely see the 'regalness' of this breed in her picture!
I can see your concerns. However ...my 2 cents... I think it would be awesome to have a niece or nephew of mine! There are soo many questions already buzzing around. Would they have the amazing cuddle drive that I love:hearteyes:!! Traits? Looks? Personalities? Strengths? Weaknesses? Wonder...
Not to mention calling them the wrong name. Jeesh the horrible trick that would play on ones Alzheimers'.:spit: I already confuse my 3 kids and 3 dogs, couldn't imagine throwing in a "twin" of one.
While I'm still very much in love with both our first dobermans. I don't think I could ever clone a beloved pet..my worry would be it not living up to the 1st one's expectations, quirks, skills, etc...
Man do I miss the innocent look of a puppy!!!
I would get rid of the tape and leave down until healed. The vet that did our crops I thought did a great job..except for the post crop care. They would wrap our poor boys ears and when we would go to change tape, etc... It would rip off scabs each...
That is awesome!! Congratulations!! You can really tell the hard work you both have put in.
Question for you... In the video at the top of the post.. one of the guys in the black/yellow jump suits looks a lot like the Sgt from Miami SWAT tv series. Do you know if that was him?
