Where is the right place on this site, or any other resource, to give away (free) pure-bred Doberman pups?

We're not doing so bad for day #3. We've placed 4 of 9 with familiar faces. 2 with family and 2 with vet employees.

Where is the right place on this site, or any other resource, to give away (free) pure-bred Doberman pups?

We haven't spoken to him yet. He'll be on our call list. What are your thoughts about contacting the breeder? Would the idea be that even though he'll sell them at least he'll place them with good owners?

Where is the right place on this site, or any other resource, to give away (free) pure-bred Doberman pups?

Both were from the same breeder (hence, they have the same father). We were told to wait at least 18 months before spaying/neutering. The plan was/is to get the male neutered in June. I suppose there's no one to blame but myself. I thought I had more time. We don't plan to give the pups...

Where is the right place on this site, or any other resource, to give away (free) pure-bred Doberman pups?

I suspect you might be right. I hadn't thought of a Doberman rescue group, but that might be the safest way to go. I was hoping we could place them properly on our own, perhaps it's more dangerous than I realized.

Where is the right place on this site, or any other resource, to give away (free) pure-bred Doberman pups?

Regarding the parents health, basic tests were done by the breeder and they get regular vet care. We're not aware of any health issues. I have the breeding history/lineage for both of them. They're not AKC registered, but their parents are, so I have all of the info to do that. Also, I...

Where is the right place on this site, or any other resource, to give away (free) pure-bred Doberman pups?

Yes, what you've mentioned is correct. I don't recall my previous posts (on a cell phone right now), but we have 3 adult dogs. A 16 month old male Doberman, a 9 month old female Doberman (adopted this January), and an older female mutt. This litter was unplanned. The female Doberman had a...

Where is the right place on this site, or any other resource, to give away (free) pure-bred Doberman pups?

FYI, we are located in the Catskills region of NY state. We have family along I-80/90 in NYC, Catskills, Toledo, Cleveland, and Chicago. So, any of those pickup points will do. The pups will be available in 8+ weeks.

    Adding a 2nd Doberman pup?

Thank you. The breeder offers a guarantee in the event there's a positive result. Hopefully, that won't be the case.

    Adding a 2nd Doberman pup?

Thank you for your reply. What is SSA? Also, I ordered an Embark DNA kit to test for genetic defects, etc. Do you have any familiarity with these DNA tests. Thx again.

    Adding a 2nd Doberman pup?

I'm looking to add a new Doberman female puppy (5 months old) to our home. We already have a 12 month old male Doberman and an 8 year old female mutt. Both Dobermans are "European" and share the same sire. Is a female Doberman a better fit than a second male Doberman? Also, there's going to...

80 lbs @ 7 months. Is there such a thing as too large?

Actually, Sid and I kinda picked each other. I didn't pick him for size. He was the last one left in the litter. No one wanted him since he's a red.

80 lbs @ 7 months. Is there such a thing as too large?

I didn't know that about waiting 2 years. I'll look into it further. Thx for the suggestion.

80 lbs @ 7 months. Is there such a thing as too large?

Brand is Science Diet - Sensitive Stomach. I don't monitor his diet closely since he eats with 2 other dogs. Having said that, he's lean but very muscular.

80 lbs @ 7 months. Is there such a thing as too large?

Oh, I don't care about standards. Just that he's healthy. Daily exercise is 2 mountain hikes of about 25 minutes each, 250' vertical. Also, we go to obedience training on Saturdays and a bit longer hike on Sundays. Still working on a decent and recent pic. Thx for your interest and ideas.

80 lbs @ 7 months. Is there such a thing as too large?

No, not neutered yet. I've been waiting til he reaches full size. I haven't set a date for it and not in a rush.

80 lbs @ 7 months. Is there such a thing as too large?

I'm just hoping that any extra size isn't indicative of an underlying problem or a predictor of future health issues.

80 lbs @ 7 months. Is there such a thing as too large?

Right at 7 months, weighed in at the vet. I'm not sure how to gauge proportions. I'll take some measurements and post. Super high-energy. Very muscular and good looking. Very smart and mischievous. He was a bit clumsy around 6 months. Since then he's done very well with obedience and very...
