Okay I have read two things to be true from different people, but both of these statements cannot be true so I'd like for others to weigh in.
I have heard thick ear leather takes longer to stand while posting. I have also heard thin ear leather takes longer. Where I hear the thick takes longer...
An update on the boy. A little adhesive on the tip still. The left ear turns at the tip and makes a sharp point. Kinda cool, but I wish the right ear would do it too. I'm thinking mid February I'll start testing his ears? He'll be 8 months old by then.
Adult classes start on the 1st. There was a little obedience competition between Flint and an older belgian malinois (not originally part of our classes) for the last class. They were going through the commands and the last one was a long down. Flint laid down first (I have never seen him obey...
The difference between home and work is 8 hours in the kennel but able to walk/pee every 2 hours vs at home in the crate for 10 hours and he holds it. I drive an hour one way to work, and Flint is only 5 months old. I didn't want to do that to him.
My work has very bright lights in the parking...
Well... Flint is growing very fast and the car kennel I have is almost too small for him. I can't fit a bigger one in my car either. I think by the time he is 6 months old, he will be too big for that kennel (that's about a month away). So my plan was, because I have to bring him to work with me...
Okay that 2nd photo looks like it could be a movie poster (horror obviously). I am in love with your photography skills. Scary though... I am always paranoid about something happening to me and Flint on walks, even with my firearm to protect us both.
I guess I should update this too. Flint was from Mother B, as Mother A ended up with a whole litter of runty looking pups and Mother B's pups were bigger and healthier looking. I gambled, but I won. Mother A looked better on paper, but Mother B had the superior uterus I guess. Flint was clear of...
Update on this. We were the greeters at Petco for an hour on Friday. Flint hated it  He had to sit and politely watch people and their dogs pass by and wasn't allowed to say hello unless the guests wanted to. This was part of our training session with our trainer. He caught on quickly and...
That's what I was feeding Flint. He is now eating nutro for puppies with a bit of fresh pet mixed in. Waiting on the Black Gold Explorer dog food to get to our house in the mean time.
Edit: I was feeding him the classic which is now included in the recall.

They used to list breeders that focused on genetic diversity. I don't know why they stopped. They will accept Embark test results if you submit them.
I didn't realize PVC's (Premature Ventricular Contraction) was such a big deal in dobes. I have them. They occur less and less frequently since I have changed my eating habits and lost weight (thank you Flint!). I used to have them a few times a day. Now I have them once a month or two. Is there...
I have heard this from others as well. I live about an hour away from a guy that trains dogs for protection, and he is willing to train other people's dogs if they pass his assessment, which is free. He works with mostly shepherds but he has successfully trained dobies as well. I was curious to...
Trainer also said the rule with "leave it" is that absolutely under no circumstance is Flint allowed to have the thing. Don't use his food or toys that he is allowed to have for "leave it".
Despite the struggle, by the end of it, the trainer kicked the beef jerky toward Flint and Flint avoided...
That's how the training started. The beef jerky on the floor was like the 3rd step in the training process. I guess Flint was under the impression that whatever hit the floor was his (and most of the time at home that was true. No 5 second rule for me. We have stopped doing that since.)
