We were able to get away for a quick camping trip! The weather was perfect.

Incoming spam, like usual 😂

There was a stream along most of this hike. Remy loved walking in the water and jumping on the rocks.

Oh what a great outing and fantastic photography!

I went on a limb and bought a new fluffy ball for Elroy yesterday at Walmart since they're only $5. They are way bigger than a GoDog or Cycle Dog ball and of course the price is a fraction of the others. It probably won't last with the little black shark but I thought it was worth a try and Elroy is thrilled.

We went to the artesian well to get water and a stroll through the forest. I remember years ago trudging through 3 feet of snow to get water because they close the roads into this area in the winter, nevertheless, carrying a full five gallon bottle on my back in winter through the snow only happened once 😆 omg

@Nordika wow, Rollo is turning out to be one handsome beast! Soon as he is used to thst harness you can transition to load bearing something and he can carry jugs for ya!
J/k
Serious question: what is the function of the harness, if you dont mind my asking?

Seems like a strange question...😄
Harnesses are Multi-purpose, so I'll assume you want to know specifically why/how I am using a harness for a walk. For just learning loose leash walking I've clipped the lead to the front chest D-ring.

A dog harness with a front D-ring functions primarily to prevent pulling and lunging by redirecting the dog’s forward momentum to the side when tension is applied. Because the attachment point is located on the chest rather than the back, pulling causes his body to rotate back toward me, breaking his distraction focus and making it difficult/nigh impossible to drag me forward.

It provides greater steering ability and leverage, making walks safer. It distributes pressure across the chest and shoulders, eliminating the risk of neck or throat injury associated with traditional collars. It serves as a humane tool for loose leash training and redirection from distractions by gently guiding his attention back to me. Especially useful for a hard dog, which, sadly, he is, doesn't respond to pinch or choke collars.
