Hi guys! I’m back with another question as everyone has been so helpful with everything. Onyx is now 5 months and changing everyday. Our current ongoing challenge is his anxieties and constant fears. We live in a big city so we knew the first couple months would be foreign to him but he doesn’t seem to be adjusting. He is so scared of loud sounds and big trucks (which I get) but then also scared of certain people. He hides behind me when we see homeless people in the alley, and today there were some crazy people screaming and banging on a door and he was so scared my boyfriend couldn’t get him to walk or eat his food (he was doing his training outside and my boyfriend was trying to feed him to get him used to different environments). I would think my Doberman would want to step up and be on guard to protect his handlers but it seems we have to protect him. Once he’s triggered and scared it’s so hard to calm him down. He just pulls and tries to run in the opposite direction. Is he going to grow out of this ? He’s been in the big city for 3 months now and we still can’t walk him around the block or on a route he’s never taken before. He just stands still and barely moves. How can we help him through this . I attached updated photos of him too thanks to everyone in advance.
