My doberdoof and her extreme emotional intelligence!

Ok so just really wanted to share my first experience with Gytha being EXTREMELY intune with my emotions!

So I've been working a lot these past 2 weeks and Gytha hasn't been able to spend a lot of time with me and instead has been being looked after by some family members who have been living with me since Gytha came in. I had to work extra so I could reduce my workload in the next couple of months. Because of this she had been getting somewhat closer to them and had started to spend our evening wind-downs cuddled with them rather than me. I understood but felt SO miserable about it. Wanted to cry. On my last day of extreme work, I come home and im sitting in the lounge all mopey and I make my misery known by complaining about how bad I feel that she isn't as cuddly with ne etc etc and lo and behold - this little braniac gets up, looks me in the eyes and runs over and just collapses on me all cuddly and starts licking me and playing with me and just, smoldering me with all the love I'd needed! She did not (and has not) left my side since. In a non-clingy way. Shes back to being herself.

It was SO freaky to witness this so abruptly but at the right time. These little intuitive rascals just always know dont they?

Here are some pictures of this 4 legged de-stresser of mine!IMG_20210906_192408_620.jpg

They just know... Its the best feeling isn't it? Ripley surprises me every day. She goes upstairs to go potty with her Dad every morning. This morning she came over to my bedside and said hi to me first and gave me kisses and grins. Sooooo sweet. Especially when shes not a huge cuddler anymore like she was when she was a puppy, she still shows me love in her own way.

So funny, Asha didn't like to be close until about 1 1/2 years old, now she's crazy to be next to me and will sleep quietly next to me if I lay down to read for a while.

How wonderful is that? I swear these dogs are just too smart. Jasper picks up on my mood and seems to know when I need a laugh or a cuddle. Thankfully he is a big cuddler.

Its great for our mental health too. When my father was ill and ultimately passed, Jasper seemed to know when I was feeling my worst. And I tell you- hugging him can take me from full out sobbing to smiling in minuets. Its amazing.

I am self isolating after my mom tested for positive for covid today. Here is Jasper literally right now.

Im so terribly sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how difficult it would have been and still is for you. I send you tons and tons of love and healing from across the world ♥️

And I'm so glad you have Jasper! Hugs from our dobes truly are magical arent they? They feel so safe and comforting. I don't know what it is, but they have some sort of magic in them, Im certain.

And your Jasper is such a beautiful boy! The picture is adorable 😍

It truly is. It's so healing. Like i just said in a comment below, they definitely have some magic in them. It's insane how a little show of affection from them can make you feel instantly better!

And your Ripley sounds like an absolute charm!!! She truly loves you. ♥️

Gytha has become more cuddly and hugg-y since shes growing up too! I always joked about how people brag about puppies being cuddly and lovey and then theres mine who despises it. Until now! Now shes becoming far more affectionate. Very interesting. They all really have their own personalities haha.

That's so sweet and they truly can feel our emotions regardless of what we're doing. The same even goes with training so if you're tense or nervous, you're going to pass that right down the leash to the dog.

Both of our dogs are snugglers too.

I learnt the latter the hard way. When I got confident in my commands and training, that's when she truly started to listen and learn!

It is pretty amazing how they know these things. I call it "mind reading" lol, sometimes it can be a good thing, other times not so much hah. They are really good at studying our behavior, that's for sure.

The most wonderful thing about owning Dobermans! They are incredibly intuitive.....my favorite feature!
