I work for a major auto insurance company we are busier than ever! Thankfully they have made sure to take precautions for us and we do a lot of our conferencing through the Internet. Because this all kicked off in March and I had just got my puppy at the end of January it’s been a blessing in disguise.
But I really have to ask you guys he’s about to hit seven months and I have a doggie door with 24 seven access and he’s not allowed to go upstairs it is blocked off but he will piss and crap in the house at random times?!!! I’ve been home full-time since mid March and believe me I take him out all the time and he knows he can go out and I know I have to go out with him why is he still doing this? Naughty Koberoo! Help!
Fenced yard
Doggy door 24-7
I go out with hourly
After every nap. Sleep. Meal
He will piss in front of me! Then when I look at him because I hear him peeing; i yell Nooooooooo he runs outside as fast as he can

Honestly. No. Bc i have been home 24/7 with. And I have 4 dogs now. Have always had many dogs. And I just wanna cuddle always. I noticed he will P if I haven’t taken him out for exercise in the morning. I can’t even remember the basics of crate training but when I have three other dogs in the house how do I even do that? Any tips, loves? Gentle kind tips. Im sensitive now bc my 11 yr old has cancer... xoxo

he only does it every once in a while like I’ll be working at my computer in my office which is right off of the kitchen and dining room and I will hear him pissing and as soon as I look at him and say no he runs outside as fast as he can. I swear it’s like he does it on purpose

im a bad mommie. Prob. Lol.

Sounds like he knows what he does is. wrong .But is seems he may be doing this for more attention from you!!
He doesn’t know what he is doing is wrong. He is just reacting to the yelling of the word NO. Crate training, taking the puppy out on leash to the area designated for him to potty, marking the behavior then rewarding them, this is the way they will see the picture and learn what go potty means. It must be the same picture every time, that is why going potty must be taught on a leash.

this was happening to me, i work for a start-up and ever since COVID-19 we have neen so bussy, but i had to dedicate some time to my puppy, this helped me https://amzn.to/2Z5dAGX every time i ahd a chance at work i would read it, this helped me a lot, not only ready this will help but you will need to make some time for your puppy.

While there are some things that my girl definitely did to get attention when she was a youngster I agree with @Doberman Gang that there is probably a basic lack of understanding in this case. I did find that if I went back to basics with anything that I was having trouble with the problem was usually resolved quite quickly.

Just a thought. If you are feeling upset, anxious and out of sorts your pup will be aware of this. He might be unsure of what is going on and be a bit anxious himself. They are very sensitive. This is a good thing in my opinion but it does take some extra effort sometimes to reassure them all is ok. From personal experience the needing to make happy/fun/play time actually does wonders for both you and your pup!

Crate training is a must and everything @Doberman Gang said is spot on. These dogs flourish with a set regimen and discipline.

probably a good idea to crate train the entire pack as well.

A bell on the doorknob is my go to. Every time Id take Rose out I'd stop, ring the bell and say out. Then praise and treats for going outside. They learn to go outside and also gives them a way to let you know they need out. Rose was ringing the bell herself in a week to 10 days. She was housebroken at 3 months did the same with my first dobie with equally good results

Funny story about the ‘bell on the doorknob’ method. Pre-pandemic, we used to get Kaiser’s nails done in someone’s house. So my dog and another Doberman were waiting and they were playing. Both dogs had their back to me, so I noticed the other dog’s bum was looking like he needed to poop and I thought, no it must just be excitement making him appear ‘that’ way. Well, soon enough he started to squat and poop! I raised the alarm. His owners chased him out of the house and explained that at home, they use a bell on the doorknob  So for once, a Doberman that WHINES to get out for potty, is a good thing :D

I would definitely introduce him slowly to the crate. Ideally, it would of been better from the start but do it now. When he’s not in the crate, he should be tethered to you by a leash so that you can interrupt any piddling and take him outside....No yelling, or scolding....straight out!! Praise him when he does his business in the designated potty area.
6 months is still young, don’t fret! With the right guidance he’ll soon get the hang of it.

They find the crate their safe haven so all of our dogs are crate trained. Our pups are fed in the crate so they look forward to going in there and we use it as a happy place and never put them in there as punishment.
It's also good to have them all crate trained in case you need to evacuate your home for some reason since most places you would go require them to have a crate.
