He didn't bolt with me taking pics

He looks big in that picture. I remember watching a man on youtube who had a Ram that was always angry when humans got too close. The channel is called Angry Ram, and this photo made me think: watch out! Haha

It was like spring outside today. Just a beautiful day that lifted the mood. Took Jasper out for some frisbee again. He is obsessed and as long as the silly human throws the frisbee right, he catches it every time.

This puppy is always at the ready!

I feel like Moo is starting to thicken up a little... so I've been cutting back on his AM feeding a smidge. I'm so concerned about his elbows with agility. I did start both pooches on Vit C, they're already on Manganese, and Moo get's Dasuquin with MSM.

^^^^^ The trouble in judging from a pic is that a lab will always look thicker when we are used to seeing mostly Dobes. You will know from the "touch" test though. From just looking he seems in good condition for a lab with a winter coat!

He was an average sized male goat and probably around 2 - 3yrs. He wasn't displaying any aggression but we didn't go and crowd him either! A truly feral goat would be gone before you got to see him so maybe this guy is from someones home herd, but why he is out here in the wilds is anyones guess. Maybe he got swept a long way downstream in our recent flash flooding and too far out of his territory to find his way back?

@LifeofRubie Moo’s coat looks so velvety and soft! He looks good. Definitely the most in-shape lab I have seen. In my area most are overweight. People don’t realize labs are working dogs too and will excel at tasks!

@LifeofRubie I think Moo looks good for a male lab! He's definitely heavy in bone so that'll be a little deceiving and labs always have that loosey-goosey skin all over, especially on their shoulders and neck. Its great that you are keeping an eye on his health!

Oh, no kidding! I go from petting Moo to Rubie and I feel like I'm going to hurt her because everything is just to tight and taught on her!

I'll admit I was not extremely excited about getting a lab at first because I'd never really met one I liked but Moo is nothing like those labs! I do often wish I could make gloves out of his fur... as morbid as that sounds  I would even go so far as to say he's got more of a desire to work than Rubie does

I LOVE his loosey-goosey skin! Unfortunately Moo has a littermate with health issues so I'm super, hyper vigilent. His littermate is quite obese even though he eats less food than Moose and has cataracts, we just found out. He also couldn't physically make it through a whole therapy dog class. Moo, on the other hand, did about 20 sets of weave poles AND tunnel entrances AND teeter exercises in one agility class with no issue and ready for more. Our trainer told the owners to cut back on his food and if that doesn't make a big change in weight and stamina in a couple of weeks, to get a full blood panel done. She thinks hypothyroidism but diabetes also seems like it could be an issue because of the cataracts?

And since this is a Doberman Chat, after all...

Jaspers a tired boy. Played chuck-it until he was laying in the grass. Followed by a nice walk in the park. Then a few hours later we did a session of frisbee.

Now it is getting late, and he is ready for more. I wish I had his energy some days! These dogs are nuts haha

In other news, Rubie has been weird lately. Like approaching people (people she is around often but doesn't usually directly interact with like at agility class or one of our 7 year old nieces) and actually initiating interaction and wanting them to pet her. Ears back (in that cute way they do), nub going a mile a minute. She just turned 4 in December. Is she like... growing up??
I'm guessing she is growing up. Della has always had the mile a minute tail when she sees people but it took Albert a few years before he acted like that.

Out enjoying some sun yesterday.

Remember the whining we talk about?? I swear, Buddy whines........then barks....at me when he wants his bed! This bed gets moved from here to the family, room, to my office........wherever I am! If I'm in there, and the bed isn't, God help me! Bark, bark, Bark, whine, bark.......he's training me well! It took me a while to understand what the hell he wanted! But I got it, Bud! I got it. If I'm in a room for any length of time, he'll need his bed too!

Hans has started with this whining and barking too in his advanced years. When he looses a toy or chew, he lets us know that he needs assistance.

It’s not even advanced years here. Ezri is 1.5 years and has the human I need assistance bark when a ball ends up where she can’t get it.
Yep, Kaiser used to drop his ball into a window well in the yard so that we would be forced to get it for him. It was his way of making us get involved with the play.
Who says dogs can't talk!

My daughter had Joker outside yesterday morning when we brought his momma home from the vet. Not sure if he was watching out of concern or waiting for her to run through the gate to play. He loves his momma.

I wish my two would play with a frisbee. My first boy was awesome with a frisbee. I threw one for B&B over the water and they just watched it sail on by, then looked at me like; “ok, now throw the balls.”
