Help with Puppyfood

My 6 month doberman smells and they say it might be his food. What do you feed your doberman puppies? I'm in Canada. Thanks,

I’d suggest getting off a puppy food and move to an all life stages food. I recommend “natures logic”. It’s a high quality food and all natural ingredients. You can also use dog food advisor to look as well for a good 4-5 star rated food.

all dogs are different and not all proteins settle well.

Can add Fromm Gold to the list also. Jasper has been doing good on it. I also include several different “toppers” but thats another topic on its own.

We fed Albert Fromm Gold when he was a pup too and he did very well on it.

There are quite a few things that can make a pup smell though. What are you currently feeding?

We were feeding him Authority because that is what the breeder was feeding him. I have tried Performatin salmon and he seem to do a bit better on that but boy does it smell. I heard a lot of dobbies do well on Kirkland. So many brands don't know what would be best for him. They say its a lot of trial and error.

6months old??

I know Ragnar had a certain stench to him around that age. Be it the food?? Idk, I was switching from Purina to TOTW multiple flavors.

I can tell you for sure that when I asked about his stench here, @Tropicalbri's pegged it perfectly. It was his teething, losing teeth and having bloody mouth just gave him an overall rotten meat sour smell to him.

Vinci was on Acana up until ~6 months and then we switched him over to honest kitchen and he’s still on it (he just turned 1).

This is true, but to me it was just a mouth & breath smell, not an over-all doggie smell. Breath was fresh the day after the last tooth was gone!
