My dog come to me with these bald spots around 3 months age. My dog now 2 years old and spots still there. These spots same place both of legs sides. Everyone include veteriners says to me these spots source are sleeping in hard floor. And they are callus. But my dog sleeping soft floor. I using vasaline and some oils like a centaury, tea tree, coconut etc. But hairs don't come back on these spots. Skin very soft not hard and thick on these spots. I think they are not callus. But I dont know what are they and how to come back hairs on spots. There is no any itching, redness, acne, pimple, diffusion. Can help me anyone who experienced that before

Unfortunately, even laying on carpet or cushy beds can cause them due to friction.
The only thing I've found that help some is coconut oil rubbed in real good every day before they go out or before training. If I put it on them when they're going to be in the house or bed, they just lick it off. At least once a day would spray it with a little cod water and brush the area with a soft brush real good (up, down, back & forth). Stimulates both blood flow & hair growth. It worked for my boy & his mother.

I use a spray product called Natural Care Hot Spot itch relief spray. I try and spray all of his contact spots twice daily and I have seen improvement. One of the benefits listed is it's a moisturizer that promotes healing.

Yes, mine has the same thing.

Not only lying on hard floor but from the way he just flops to the ground. No grace or smoothness, just a big body slam.

Amazes me that he does not hurt himself because I hear him grunt afterwards.

I agree on the self-body-slamming! It can wake you up from a couple rooms over!!

Those bald spots are not in the typical location, in my experience. Bald spots/calluses are typically located farther back on the arm, closer to the point of the elbow.

I wonder if these are from him or her engaging in Dober-licking?

If you feel like it is from licking you could try Yuck spray, I have purchased it from the local Tractor Supply.

My girl is 8mo and she is on a hard floor all day. We have a bed for her, but she sleeps maybe 6 hours on it a day and the rest on the floor. Around 4mo old she started getting similar spots but MUCH smaller, and she was only 2 hours a day on her bed. I put Coconut oil 2x/week on it (plus I did her paws) and have increased the time sleeping on a bed, and the spots are nearly gone now 4 months later. She still does the body slam throughout the day on hard tile.

Her spots were closer to the elbow where the bone is. Also, you have a soft floor. I kinda doubt they are calluses based off my personal experience and everyone else's advice. Sorry I couldn't help more.
