Lol as the title says xP I’m worried Haku is getting a little tooo chunky

Turned 9 months this month. I haven’t weighed him in awhile but I’m assuming that he’s around 85pounds or a bit more

Any pictures of him broadside? Hard to say from pics of him sitting. But at least in those photos he just has some muscle definition in the rib area. Imo, as long as he has a tucked up belly, a visible waist when you look at him from above, and maybe an outline or some sort of visual of his last rib when standing he should be good.

I’d say his ribs I can see rarely and only when he moves or lays a certain way. Lol but his tummy still tucks so that’s good

It is sort of a roller coaster when they are growing and their weight and condition changes in a matter of days! Haku looks really well and not over weight in my opinion, but at the top end of "condition"! If you feel that he is getting a little chunky then it is really easy to give him a little more exercise and a little less feed and the difference shows very quickly. I think I probably keep Jazz leaner than most dogs because of her lanky, early spay legs, and wanting to keep her from stressing those legs any more than she has to! :)

yaa I think he’s gotten a bit bigger cause we have fed the same amount of food but not as much exercise as before due to the weather and winter season. So we should probably start lowering his food portions since he’s being a potato during bad weather

and that makes sense for her! Every dog is different so it’s good to figure out which each one needs

honestly he looks fine, a little on the chonkers side however there’s still a tuck. Maybe could shed 2-3 pounds. However he’s still growing and you might have weird phases of chonkyness.

He looks fine to me and they do start filling out quite a bit when they slow down growing height wise. This is the time when I really start adjusting the food since they also don't eat as much when the big growth spurts slow down.

He looks beautiful, on the topside, but fine. He is nine mos. so don't slow to much on food. At this point he will still be filling in. The skeleton is in full growth possibly but he will still be growing. We always worry so much about their bodies and if they have to much weight on. I just went through it with Buddy and my hubby said he is just filling out. His ribs aren't showing right now but still has the curve. Take care.
