I think Preacher has a bug bite or bee sting. Anyone have something similar, how did you treat it ? Thanks !

I read where a little baking soda and water made in to a paste can be helpful. Anyone ever tried that ? Thanks.

Baking soda paste is good for bee stings, but I can't tell what that may be. The color seems to show fluid. A small amount, just watch to make sure it doesn't spread or grow?

Thanks Genny, it looks a little better today. We will keep an eye on it.

That's what I'd do, watch it. If it gets bigger, I'd take him in for a needle aspiration. Were you able to find a Vet yet?

No luck yet on finding a vet I feel comfortable with. There is really no one else to try in the immediate area.

That's too bad. I have a friend in Knob Noster (not too terribly far) that has a dobie. Want me to ask her who she uses?

If she finds someone please let me know. Most people around here seem to like the vet in Warsaw. I think the main reason is because they are cheap. Its like a walk in clinic, no appointments and office visits are just $20.00. I tried them once when I was dealing with Preacher's allergy problems. The vet said generally when a dog has skin problems its best to just put them down. That was the last time I will go there.

Put them down!!!!! I can't believe it, I had one with constant skin issues, I can't imagine putting her down for that, what the hey!:complain:where do these ideas come from? Someone is pulling something out of their:moon:Skin issues happen in all breeds and can be overcome. Anyway enough venting, I hope and pray she finds a vet.

She happened to call last night so I asked her. She said she likes Dr. Trisha at Flat Creek Veterinary Hospital.

I was actually going to try her because I have heard she is very nice. It's her availability that concerns me. She is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays along with just being open a half a day on Saturdays. I have also heard she has some health issues she has been dealing with. The day I needed to see her happened to be a Wednesday, I was really surprised she was closed.I ended up going to a different vet which I'm not totally sold on. Dr. Trish has some mixed reviews but I find that to be the case with most vets. I may still try her, I just hope she is there when I need her.

Histiocytoma as another poster stated. My wife is a vet and those are usually just a wait and see type thing. What you would need to worry about is whether your dog can see it and scratches or bites it (can get some infection from that). Other than that it won't hurt the dog unless it is blistering (ulcerated).

This is Jase Tinley's (Dr.Tinley) wife. Yes, just monitor and if it blisters or gets bigger or your pup is biting or clawing at it go ahead and see your vet about removing it. It's a simple procedure that just uses local and is over in a few minutes. My husband just asked me about it and I finally said "please just hand me the computer."

 My father was a vet and this was the attitude of the other vet clinic in my hometown. Needless to say, there were many upset pet owners when my dad retired. Those are the ones who are in it just for the money.

Is she in a solo practice? If so, she can’t be open 7 days a week. Yes, it’s inconvenient, but I’d imagine if there’s an emergency she’d respond to the call. I grew up with my dad leaving on holidays and in the middle of the night to respond to calls.
