Best Dog Beds for Chewers

Hello everyone! Our family just adopted our foster baby Brie and I am in search of a great dog bed for her. We've used blanks and comforters in her kennel up to this point but she tears them up and I wake up or come home to stuffing everywhere! Any suggestions on great beds for dobbie's that love to chew up things? Thanks for any advise!

I don’t think any ‘fluffy’ bed is dobie resistant. If they are determined to chew/destroy, they will. Blockages can be fatal so you want to do your upmost best to prevent it from ever happening.

I second the raised bed. Ours is a little different design in that edge of the bed are covered to make it totally chew proof. These are in their crates and we'll usually bring one camping because Rubie can't lie on the ground

It's from K9 Ballistics. Not cheap but cheaper than emergency surgery or to keep replacing destroyed bedding. Cons: It can be loud if they they rustle around at night so we have a cheap amazon crate pad on top of it that has yet to be destroyed.

For downstairs (where the dogs are supervised), we have a casper dog bed. Not chew proof but designed to be digger friendly.

I love Primo Pads. Joker was a shredder until the Primo Pad. He's in a wire crate, so we used the tie downs that came with it. That way they can't get a corner up to start chewing it.

How old is she? We found the Costco beds to be most durable, but might be best to buy that only once she is past the crazy puppy stage because she will probably destroy that too.

That's where we got our crate pad too and it must be at least 5 years old now. That said, our dogs are well beyond the puppy stage.

Ragnar tore through two of those fancy, comfy, foo foo bed pads in 24hrs. I did not know, new to the Doberman world..... figured I could teach a puppy not to do that.

Nope, wasn’t happening, so I finally ordered a K9 Ballistics tough dog crate pad. May not be as comfy as those foo foo pads but it’s still intact and better than the hard plastic bottom. Still have it today.

A few weeks before he came home I was at a garage sale and found some snap together foam flooring for some ridiculously low price. I brought it home and glued it to the floor of our crates. It works perfect, cheap, soft enough, durable and easy to clean.

I’m so glad I saw this post! Neo cannot have anything fluffy or soft. Basically, it becomes a giant chew toy.

I bought those (4 cases) to put on our floors in the house where Gracie would walk. This was after her back surgery and it really helped with her traction once I got her walking again then we used them for when she had her leg amputated so it was easier for her to move about. The cat would try to use them as a scratching pad.

I had thought about putting them back out for the twins but they would no doubt start chewing them. So they remain in storage.

I bought a primo pad for his Ruffland kennel. It’s held up so far (2 weeks in) and has zero damage. He hasn’t even tried to chew it. His k9ballistic pads he destroyed in a day. Went thru 2 in 2 days lol.

I believe k9 ballistic will either replace it or offer the cost to replace it off another item, if you weren't aware!

lol, fully aware. He went to town on them. Pulled them apart at the seems and managed to pull and break a 1000 pound rated zip tie that was holding them down. They replaced them, ones used as a lounging bed in the living room and bed crate in the bedroom where he is supervised or else he goes to town on them.
Surprisingly the primo pad has been the best one. I left him alone for 5 hours with it in his crate and he didn’t damage it in anyway lol
