Random Photo of the Day - 2019 - post yours!

I've seen that somewhere before. Maybe even here on the Forum.

Might be me? I have one. Can't say I love it. Works okay for the surface mud but not the stuff between the toes. Nothing works like a towel to get all the mud.

Looks like a sweet pose right? NOPE, she's pissed because she's on a sit. She had some 'free' time yesterday between the storms. Spoiled it for herself because she couldn't resist running through mud puddles and eating soggy mulch.

Yes! Maybe it was you! Hmm, I guess I can see the stuff between the toes. Maybe using both is key. One to wash and the towel to get the rest. ;)

She's gorgeous!

Moo and Rubie had quite an adventure during our hike today. Not many pictures because the parts worth taking pictures of were quite technical. There was about 50ft of path that was maybe 12" wide and 15 feet above a pool below. Doesn't sound like a big deal but when you're attached to a dog and it's slick mud, if one goes down, you both go! We also got to a point where we had to pick the dogs up and onto rock ledges because there was nothing for them to grip to. Moo got to swim so it was a good day!

I just got back from work, had Bogie with me. I decided to sit downstairs and watch the news and let Bogie patrol the yard. About 10 minutes after sitting down, enjoying my southern sweet iced tea, I hear several little yips from Bogie. He usually does it when he wants something and can’t get to it, like his ball.
I get up and look in the back yard to find Bogie sitting with a pitiful look on his face and watching him turn and look at his butt. Yep... sure enough he had a dingleberry in his butt. Once I removed it he was all happy again. Sure can’t tell these dobes have that entitlement attitude.:spit:3F7C40F1-8BA9-43C0-8E38-C9F1CDF67150.jpeg

Anyones dog lay like this on the couch? Jaspers butt is literally in the upright position. I don't even get how he bends his body like this. I know the angle is weird. But take a second and you’ll see what I mean.

And why not this one too

Omg I laughed at “the dreaded dingleberry” because I can so relate LOL on the occasion it happens my dogs give me the most pitiful looks! And it’s always unfortunately funny hehe

@LifeofRubie your hike looks beautiful! I can also relate to being extra careful in sketchy spots while being attached to a dog, but doesn’t it make it more fun? In a way lol

@Lizbeli Brinks lays like this. Not to sleep but when he wants lovins. He will plop beside all against you with his head and top part of his body contorted to being halfway rolled over with his hiney still up in the air.

Today is a special day and I will dedicate a post later to it, but Rio is 1! I have an itinerary planned out for the day to celebrate. Yesterday he got a present in advance which he adores, introducing Pedro Martinez Cacti!

@LifeofRubie that place looks awesome. The stairs and the rock layers. Kinda magical and homey at the same time. Imagine having a backyard like this!

I wish I'd gotten more pictures but they are hard pressed to do it justice. We actually went here on 4th of July last year! This is when you first come down into the canyon... those stepping stones were complete submerged yesterday

In this picture, the steps you see in the background lead down to the area where Moo was swimming. Those stepping stones were also completely under water yesterday.

Inside the canyon is very magical looking! Usually several degree's cooler too which is a bonus.

@Brioddy I was actually really impressed with us! There were two ladies looking at the sketchy parts considering whether they were going to do it or not and when our group trudged ahead and we started lifting our dogs up and over and on top of things, I think they figured if we could do it, so could they  and HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIO!

@MyBuddy this is at Matthiesen State Park; Starved Rocks red-headed step sister. It's always less busy but the trails, in my opinion, are more beautiful and the swimming is better for Moo.

Matthiesen State Park;
Oh, yea! A lot of our horse friends ride there. I did too, but it was years ago. Beautiful area. :thumbsup2: From what I remember, some of the trails are very Steep and narrow. A little hair-raising but still really interesting ride. ;)

I haven't seen those trails but I believe it! I actually think I saw a sign in the horse parking area that their trails were closed. With all the rain this year, there were huge swatches of trail that had washed away. Definitely hairy on horse back, I'm sure!

@LifeofRubie I’ve been on trails that made me question whether to even continue or turn around. I haven’t turned around yet and afterwards you feel proud of yourself for sticking it through! And it boosts your confidence for next time. I really believe tackling these trails truly teaches your dog body awareness and dexterity and also improves THEIR confidence too!

I also can’t believe Rio is one! The time surely has flown. I am just grateful he is here to celebrate his birthday.
