If you're in the Chitown area, Illumination at the Morton Arboretum can't be beat as far as light shows go. Pictures can't do it justice.

They will pant and move from floor to bed all night long if I don’t turn on the AC.
Now they lay in the sun without panting. I can’t believe how much I cater to these guys. :banghead:FE11188D-2C65-441F-89CC-781B6CF209C6.jpeg

I received the prize today from the photo contest! It is a beautiful vibrant and thick, soft fleece dog suit from Eurodog Designs. I decided to size it for Odyssey, as like dobies she has a thin, short coat and gets cold easily... the boys got a lot more to work with! I ordered a size bigger as she’s a bit more wide around the middle than other dogs her length LOL but it is definitely not too long and she loves it!

Not complaining, but it won’t get much use today as the high is an uncharacteristic 71. It will change shortly of course, I swear the Carolinas weather is nothing short of bipolar.

You can’t tell but her tail is wagging. And she -never- willingly looks at the camera so I believe she is truly happy in it.

Thank you so much Katja for the beautiful dog suit!

She looks so precious and happy to have a warm outfit for those cold days. Love her face!!

She really is the sweetest. She’s the favorite of the kids to pet because she’s so gentle. She doesn’t fuss one bit having her coats put on! She loves them and will lounge around all day in her hoodie.

I have to say when we get pitties in for boarding they always seem to have a smile on their faces. I just love them and how affectionate they are.

They really are an ultimate people dog. I always had pit bulls and my family and friends always had them they’ve always been great dogs. Some of our family friends used them for hunting hogs, real athletes and drive but sweet as a lamb towards us kids.

Odyssey is my most special friend. We’ve been through a lot the last ten years.

8D02228C-F6B8-4E39-AA1F-ADD75AB37073.jpeg Got our tree up today! Was an eventful weekend. Had a crazy system roll through and wind gusts up to 50mph. knocked over a portion of our fence, that I didn’t notice until I checked on Ellie after letting her out to potty in the morning, where she was sniffing around in the neighbors yard. No idea if we had any rotation but many neighbors had trampolines take flight, few house lost a good amount of siding, and saw a lot of broken trees. A lot of neighbors had blown over fences so lots of dogs roaming around this weekend. Glad we were able to get our back up over the weekend!

Hey, I forgot to ask, I’ve never seen water that colour, what causes it?
There is a very fine whitish yellow clay in our soil that gets washed down in heavy rain and doesn't settle out. Then when the rain has stopped there is no flow any more so you get lack of oxygen, plus high temperatures and you get a bit of algae too. Strangely enough it stays drinkable, (for animals) and there is a constant stream of wildlife headed for this water, birds, wallabies and even snakes.

Of course, this water is right in the middle of Jazzies territory so in this hot, hot weather she is kept busy, and loud, defending it! I have her tethered far enough away to give our critters a chance during the night!

Hahaha.....
No it is not Ragnar but I would not be surprised if he tried to go after an alligator. A friend sent this to me this morn.

Me and Rio went out on a lunch date, he ordered a rare hamburger. I had to chop it up for him of course. He was a perfect little boy and mostly laid down and napped the majority of the time.

I'm sure it's instinctual but I just LOVE seeing water. If we're going to stay in the midwest, I WILL have a lake house, someday...
I have to be around water too. We have always lived on the water. Country life to me is living on an island without close neighbors. Lol
