5 months, how do these ears look?

They're looking really nice but I would personally keep going for another month or two since they're still bending in the middle and it's a long crop. Unfortunately vets usually advise to stop posting too early and that will cause some flopped ears when they're not done.

He is beautiful and his ears look great but I agree with @JanS keep posting for another month at least. Wouldn’t want to see one start to drop after a week.

Oh no! really? They’ve been out of posts for 5 days and standing the same. I think he’ll just have a permanent bend. If I see any sign of drooping or severe bending I will post ASAP. What about the breathe right strips? Any opinions on that ? Would any of you be happy if that was your Doberman and that was what his ears looked like permanently ?

Has he finished teething yet?
I would still put them back in posts. If you wait till one droops you will lose all the progress so far to have them standing.

Yes he’s done teething. I’ve seen lots of dobes with a curve like that I just thought it was normal :-(

Is that him in your avatar? That’s the way they should look. Compared to that picture it looks like they’re starting to drop. I agree with the others. Keep posting a bit longer.

He’s gorgeous! What is that color considered?

I truly think that’s as good as his ears are going to get they are very heavy and thick I don’t think they’ll ever stand straight if they look the way they do forever I’ll be very happy, but I will take everyone’s advice into seriously consideration. I see the vet again Friday.

very heavy and thick
Exactly because of this and the long style, I have got to agree with the others - they've done multiple postings on many dogs so I would sooner believe them over your vet. That's why you're asking, right? ;) Also, a crop and flop is just not ok. We must take the responsibility for cropping all the way to the finish. :)

Ugh I think you guys are right. I’m going to post them again, but I can’t get in until Friday you think that’s okay? @My2Girls @JanS @Tropicalbri's
Go to the thread here on the forum for the ear posting tutorials and start posting them yourself. It’s really easy and it will be so much better with you doing them. Get the supplies, use the posting tutorials and you will be great!!

I just hear terrible stories of people doing it too tight and the ear tissue dying. I don’t feel confident doing it.

So I take it your vet is doing the posting for you? There are plenty of tutorials on here and on YouTube on how to post. Once you get the hang of it. It’s easy.

Yes I agree it would be such a shame if they flopped. I would be devestaed. I put so much time and money into them, and not only that...I would have him go through everything for nothing.
