Spay, bloat, and stomach tacking questions

Oh yes, that was my first investment when I brought her home. She gobbles everything up so fast 🤣

Spay, bloat, and stomach tacking questions

All of this is so very helpful! Thank you! One thing I like about my vet is that she didn’t try to push me to get her spayed early or late. She just told me some of the risks like breast cancer for the females. She gave me info on different age ranges. There are just so many different opinions...

Spay, bloat, and stomach tacking questions

Hello everyone! Questions regarding bloating and stomach tacking. 1. I plan to spay my girl shortly after 18 months old. Is this still too young? 2. While she’s under I do plan to have her stomach tacked. I have read all of the pros of this but are there any cons/risks that I should be aware...

Mental stimulation toy recommendations for dobershark!

I will definitely try that. She likes to sniff around and explore so that sounds like a good exercise for her.

Mental stimulation toy recommendations for dobershark!

Oh yes, I only buy cheap stuffed toys now because her and my 8 year old go to town on those. I do have a kong but it’s a little too big for her now because I got it for my older dog originally but keeping it for when she gets bigger. I never considered soccer balls! Thanks for the tip!

Mental stimulation toy recommendations for dobershark!

Thank you! I ordered a couple different puzzles and a ball with towels that you stuff treats in. Hopefully these will be stimulating. I also gave her berries and yogurt frozen in a bowl. Seemed to keep her busy for a while

Mental stimulation toy recommendations for dobershark!

Hello everyone! I have a very intense dobershark puppy. She will be 12 weeks on Tuesday. I have read through threads that this is normal and I’m trying to keep my composure and be calm and consistent as best I can. Although I must admit that I somewhat lost it today. I was trying to get a stick...

Doberman ear posting - improved method

Does it ever cause more irritation? I’m just worried about sores forming bc of the styrofoam

Doberman ear posting - improved method

Unfortunately I am in Cleveland but if I was close I would take you up on that. I feel like I’m getting the hang of it more. Just wish there was someone to confirm that I’m doing it correctly.

Doberman ear posting - improved method

Yes, I have been told to do that but I’m now wondering if I’m putting them in the wrong way somehow? And the tape doesn’t seem like it’s quite sticky enough because she can get the whole post off in one piece tape and rod all intact. I tried putting a thin cotton ball at the bottom but then it...

    Puppy play pen training_HELP

That makes a lot of sense. I’m also getting the sense that maybe she’s jealous while me and my other dog are free roaming the house? I’m not sure if that’s a thing with dogs. I got good at ignoring and waiting with my first pup. She’s just different than he was (probably because of the breed...

Doberman ear posting - improved method

I am definitely going to try this and put her in a table with a leash. I have my boyfriend and he tries to hold her. But I think he’s afraid of hurting her so he’s not holding her still. She’s still flailing around

Doberman ear posting - improved method

This makes sense to me because I have put them in to the point where they stop. Which is what I am assuming is the bottom of the bell of their ear and she still gets it out. I will try a bigger size and see if it helps. One ear has surprisingly held on but the other is a monster haha. Thank you...

Doberman ear posting - improved method

Yes! I already almost cried haha. The posts just keep popping out at the bottom so I’m hoping the bonding glue will help with that. Is 3/8 too small of a backer rod to use?
