I am not sure how active they are in your area, but a friend of mine ran nosework in a CPE (Canine Performance Events) and she enjoyed the trial. That might be yet another organization you could look at. All breeds or mixes can register with them.
I have heard people say that the gentle leader type is not good for the longnecks, too. I use front hook harnesses for my dogs to teach leash manners, too, for the same mechanism that @Nordika appreciates about the way it redirects physical but also mental energy. I use a much smaller one...
Oh boy, can I ever testify to that! Now we have been reduced to "where is the next show with PC or dash or nosework or conformation?" where can we do the most things at once? Always on the prowl over at EagerDog.
I looked and couldn't find any clubs that weren't Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and north of there. Of course, I may not have been looking in the right places, that's just what I found. I haven't read all the rules, but I imagine you have to have participated in trials in order to start one. I...
I know it's OT but I was fascinated by this and had never heard of it. I looked into it and the governing body is WCERA if anyone wants to look it up and learn more. It looks really interesting and challenging to me. They have a whole sport of it! It challenges both the dog and handler in...

I agree it's a goldmine for new Dobie and dog people or teams experiencing something new together, or setting out with new goals. That is why I never care if it goes OT. Although it's less organized for searchers, I can always bring it back to K and Z with any news to post.
Thanks @Ravenbird for putting the specifics out there. I didn't have time at the moment. I also want to add for anyone interested, that the evaluator must require only the behaviors listed in the requirements, they are not allowed to expect more and then not pass your dog. My evaluator was...
You know, I may have put those in other threads, now I can't remember.
The CGCA is a little more distraction oriented, uses more distraction dogs, and uses more challenging situations for the dog while expecting pretty much the same results. What it doesn't do is ask for the 3 minute...
