Much travelled in the US and territories as well as foreign lands, now settled in rural East Texas. Our three male dobies passed on, first 2001, second 2009 and our last one suddenly on 24 January 2017, not recovering from a spleen removal operation. Our 10 year old English Setter is hanging on, with lumps and bumps encroaching (her successful operation Sept 2015 produced an 11 lb tumor and spleen removal!) and we know soon enough, we will have to help her on to the next path. It was time to fill the doberman void despite swearing we would not adopt any more due to our retirement age (not that we are "old"!) When we least expect it, along came not one but two, a male and female bonded from puppy hood, producing 2 litters over 6 years then having their world turned upside down from a divorce and a move to a new environment that did not suit them at all. At almost 7 years old, adopting them may have seemed a challenge for their owner but we stepped in and life is sweet! Not only do we have a new spark in our lives, so does our setter!
