I also love tack, so so so much 👀 my spare room is full of it! I especially love saddles, I will find deals on marketplace and resell as a hobby. His buddies name is Apollo, he’s a grullo quarter horse. Poor guy was by himself for a year before coming to this barn and pastured with Nacho, he is...
A friend of mine who competes her OTTBs in endurance swears by Ghost saddles and is the one who got me interested! They’re also a bit more stable than “traditional” treeless as they have supportive, adjustable panels on each side of the spine. Here’s a photo of mine, although they have many...
Little update on my Nacho, a few weeks ago I made the decision to switch barns. The main deciding factor was that the previous BOs pack of six large dogs would charge us any time I tried to ride or work with him outside the pasture. Also she raised the board, and although it’s across the street...
Thank you!! He was not properly cared for when I first bought him. The man only owned him for four months, and his breeder owned him his whole life prior so he went downhill fairly quickly. He was kept on a dirt lot where he was bullied by other horses, his diet was cow hay, cracked corn, and...
If she is walking off, I’d maybe consider having a chiropractor come take a look at her. My boy was so much better after I had some body work done to him.
He literally did it all, EXCEPT jumping. If it was anything more than a log on the trail he was not about it. Worth his weight in gold, I will always miss him and he’s still in my dreams sometimes.
The tevis winner I think has won six times and four or five on the same mare, an ex Arabian...
It is awful. And thank you, Pokey was the best. The reason why they suggest you put it on their croup is so they can’t reach it and tear it off themselves. Today when I got to the barn the patch was still on! Now if we can keep that consistent 😵💫.
No progress on the anhidrosis as he keeps rubbing the patches off on low hanging tree limbs 🙄 but thought I’d take a visit to memory lane and show my old foundation Quarter Horse “Pokey” (who was anything but) from the time I was six, who we had for seventeen years before we had to put him down...
After trying certain supplements with no improvement, I reached out to the Thoroughbred community as anhidrosis isn’t uncommon in the breed and hoped there would be someone to shed light on a miracle unknown cure and I’m hoping/believing I found just that. It’s a product called Equiwinner non...
My poor guy has become afflicted with anhidrosis so I am hosing him off daily as well. He sometimes doesn’t sweat at all or not enough. I’ve started him on a supplement and have began trying to find an acupuncturist that will travel to me as I’ve heard great things about it for anhidrosis...
While many TBs are taller, there are some that are on the shorter side. I had a filly that was maybe 15h and went on to become a polo pony. My boy now is 15.1-15.2 but no bigger. His previous pasture mate was supposedly a TB and he was shorter than mine, maybe even under 15h.
