Well shoot. I was gonna upload a new picture of Mila since it's been so long so I'll just use the one I took last week of me and her, and post it here.
I took this because I was worn out from working (I'm a fiction writer) all day, had just taken a shower, and she wanted smooches. Whereas mom...
Mila is a lightweight too. She's tall, but at 18 months, only 68 lbs I think is what I last weighed her in at. She eats plenty, LOVES to run, and is very healthy. Vet loves her progress. They are all so different with their weight. Myself, I usually go by ribs. If I can see them too much? Then...
Mila turned 18 months old on the 17th of February. Attached her cuddling me at Christmas (she's no bigger than a Shih Tzu, trust her) more so for size reference. I truly think she believes she's no bigger than our smallest Shih Tzu (9lbs) Lucy. Whereas Lucy believes herself to be Mila's size...
Thought I'd update with Mila's size and weight. She is steadily growing. MUCH slower obviously than when she was a pup. Couldn't get a recent picture though. She'll be 16 months mid-December.
Since her spay in August, she's begun to put on weight again. So she's now at 58.4 lbs as of the 4th of...
We are still working on it. *sigh* lol I discovered that "grammy" would leave bits of food on the counter where Mila could get to it SO she could get it. I don't know how many times I've said, "then you're rewarding the bad behavior." :pullhair:
So yeah, I personally think that ensuring they...
Mila finds them in the yard, grabs, and takes off running laps. One bite and done. Then decides to grab the little pieces to crunch more. Don't ask me how that plastic doesn't hurt her mouth. I'm just glad she doesn't eat the plastic.
Sounds like a good plan to me. 4-8 months is usually the hardest time to deal with. Then outside of that, you see the real side of them. I'm amazed at how much Mila has calmed and I don't think it's her being female. It's training (I trained her no different than my other dogs - more like Doggy...
Anyone ever deal w spotting? Mila was having some old blood (seemed like clots, not runny liquid) draining. Around 3pm it happened then 5pm. Not too much, wasn't tender on tummy, scar is fine, so is she. Just never had that before.
Vet said it wasn't anything to worry over as long as it didn't...
Somw great advice here. Just wanted to add that with mine, I have a 15 yr old pom mix and 7 other small dogs w Mila. Her rambunctious can get outta hand, she can get rough without meaning too, knock them over at times outside (at 1 yr, we are still working with her and the littles outside at...
