Hi okay so I'm freaking out because my boyfriend got a dobie and cropped his ears 3 or 4 weeks ago the stitches are gone and healing is nice but the tip of his ear fell off on his right ear b I'm assuming since he taped them tight and I kept telling him don't tape it tight so he still has blood flow but the other tip of his ear is hard in some spots and soft in some places but I'm worried it's not salvageable any tips would be helpful please
:(

Sorry that happened. :( The tip does look pretty dead but I guess never say never for it having a chance. Or did the dark part already fall off or is it still like the photos?

That can happen from either taping too tight or from the tape getting wet and shrinking when it dries again.

If it did or does fall off you can either leave it as is or have the vet re-sculpture them a bit to be a tiny bit shorter.

Your dog is beautiful ! Also his ear is still like that I called too see what we could do and was told to leave his ears alone for two days to
See if it's salvageable and to email photos Tuesday aswell, he told us that if it isn't then we will cut it to be shorter even if it may be a little funny looking but that doesn't matter if he has funny ears cause he's very beautiful regardless 🥰🥰🥰these are my babies the female (non cropped) is mine I chose not to crop her ears as she has them laid back and standing sometimes herself.

Aww they're both cuties!

That sounds like the best course of action.

I honestly don't think it would be very noticeable since it's a bit longer crop and he wouldn't have to take that much off. Like you said, he's beautiful either way.

If we end up having to cut it to be shorter how would it end up looking do you think? since the base of his ears were cropped to fit the style we went for ?

Do you have an appointment to have the vet check it out or are you just going to send him photos?
