I would love to hear from people who have rough coated dobies. I have a 5 year old male16325901757208704993406310855506.jpg

It's not the first time I've seen it but it wouldn't be recommended to breed or show the dog.

Here's another couple threads on it but I will warn you that it gets sort of heated.

In the end when you love your dog, things like this don't and shouldn't matter to you. We only want to know things about genetics because we love the breed, and as @Panama says curious minds want to know more about genes & genetics - coat color and length is all tied to certain genes - and since this isn't a variety listed in Dobermans (that I know of) we just wonder how the gene got there.

Love your dog - would love to see more photos and tell us more about him & his personality! Have you had him since a puppy or did you just get him recently?

Had him since he was 14 weeks old he turned 5 this year he is very loyal. Even thou his not fixed he has never left our property. He does watch tv too much and barks at other dogs on tv it is very annoying have not been able to break this habit.20210926_150658.jpg

Please dont give up on this it is a true thing i will send the results from new dna test or if i find the first one will post

Are you thinking like the Beauceron trait? Phoebe's buddy has the double dews in back and it always looks so odd to me.
Yeah, kind of. I've just never seen furnishings like that even on a Beauceron.
