Ahhh...the big public behavior lie. These Dobermans are the ultimate actors and con artists. In public they have everyone convinced that they are the epitome of perfection with manners and proudly absorb all the admiration of the unsuspecting public.
You leave feeling puffed up with pride with how well they displayed themselves while out and congratulate yourself on all your hard work training them.
Then the hammer paws drop once home and quickly they become a whirling dervish. All training left at the doorstep, leaving you wondering what the hell happened.
With mine I will say they behave really well when they are not together. Together they are masters at scheming and wild behavior.
Remove one from the equation and they are perfect...well almost.
Both have a high prey drive but Bacall is not one to want to kill anything unless it’s a rat. Bogie on the other hand is wide open chasing and capturing prey, (iguanas and rats) proudly carrying it around like a victory lap for all to see.
Our cat instigates most of the “Bull in China Shop” chase scenes as he goes out of his way to walk right in front of them to elicit drama, then will run to get them going.
Tater knows the twins won’t hurt him and also knows I will give a correction if it gets crazy. He is a smug instigator, manipulator, perpetrator and agitator. That’s how he got the name ‘Tater’.
