Olly Murs lands his first-ever acting role as Spike the Doberman in brand new Disney Channel series 101 Dalmatian Street.

The singer and presenter, 34, will guest star in a two-part special of the animated series this summer after it launches on March 18.

Speaking about his experience in a London recording studio this week, Olly said: '101 Dalmatian Street is an original animated series which is inspired by the movie and novel.

'It's really exciting to be a part of it and I'm playing a character called Spike.

'Spike is a Cornish Doberman who's a surfer dude - he's fun, he's cool and he gets a bit of a love interest with one of the other Dalmatians.
 
I wish I had kids so I could have it on without feeling silly. Truth is: I will be sitting on the couch with my dobie and watching it :rolleyes:

Just hope that his character is a good one. Not a goofy one. Wonder if it'll be on firestick...
 
Cornish Doberman? Like Cornish Game Hen – as in miniature?

It looks in that pic like the Dobe is depicted as a cropped with one flopped. You have to wonder if some thought went into that in terms of the political, or if it is just to make the character look goofy and softer.

I think they probably would have had it be an uncropped, undocked Dobe, but it would not have the same character they are trying to play off of. You know, most likely poking fun at a dog that is trying to be tough.
