I'm so excited!!! I'm dying to know who is joining your family (in your house...they're all three your family).
I have to paint and renovate all day, and I always have to set short term goals until l can break and do something I like...checking for updates is what I will plan my day around!! I so wish I could watch!!...with your third hand, video it!!

Thank you. I already know who will be joining us, but was going to wait until they were officially graded :)

Thank you very much!!

Sure! Basically we just stack them up on a grooming table and assess them conformationally. We grade them from head to toe against the breed standard. Whoever fits the standard best is pick. We grade the boys first, then the girls. We use a grading sheet/booklet for each puppy and mark their assessment as we grade. We grade them at 8 weeks as it is the best time to determine how they will turn out as adults as it is the time in their growth pattern that they are structurally the most adult like. They can go through a funky growth pattern after 8 weeks.

When we stack them, we assess all angles and grade from the front, back and both sides. I will try to video it for you guys to see, but it may be hard to hear because we are being very critical
About 8 week old puppies. This will be my fourth grading. It will be different this time as I am actually one of the people who will be grading and not just an observer.

Sorry I'm slow to respond to the posts. We are in the car headed to my breeder's (around a 3 hour trip) and I get a little carsick when I read.

Thank you! Sweet of you to keep checking on us ☺️

I'll be one of the graders of the litter, so my hands may be busy, but the hubs is with me, so I'll put him on video duty. Lol

Very exciting! Will you be getting stacked pictures? I'd love to see some.
Thanks! I will be getting stacked pics and of course I would love to share them! Have I not been sharing the stacked pics with you guys? If not, I'm sorry. Bad Ainsley. Lol

Well!!!! Anxious people waiting to hear
Lol. Drum roll.....

We are taking Belmont....AND Sabrina! Long story, but both are nice and I wanted to sit on them a while longer. As of pre-grading status Sabrina is looking like pick, followed by Belmont. That may change. My beeeder was going to keep a puppy, but she can't take a male and both of us see the prospect in these two and we don't want them to go far. If they went to a show home, we would lose a lot of our hold on them and the whole purpose of breeding Aria was to improve the line and move it forward. To place either in an outside show home would be counterproductive to our plan. Plus, I really love Belmont. He and I had a connection from day 1.

So...I'm sure you all are doing the math in your heads....yes, I will have a house of 5! I'm oficially the crazy Doberman lady. 5 is my absolute limit.

All three puppies are show quality.

We are taking Belmont home today. To make raising littermates run more smoothly for me, my breeder is keeping Sabrina for a few more weeks to help form their individuality a bit more before they live together full time. She will also start potty training her, leash train her and start her in show training.

Walter is going to a lovely family in OK. They owned Aria's littermate Walter, who passed away three months ago from lymphoma. We named puppy Walter after him and I am honored they have decided to be a perfect home for this sweet boy. They are fabulous people and I couldn't ask for a better home. We've become friends through showing and they will show Walter Jr, so I can see him and keep up with how he is doing. Win win situation.

Names have changed on two puppies.
Walter's new name is Llewyn (Lew-in). Sabrina's new name is Aoife (Eee-fah)
Belmont is keeping his name :)

Will announce litter theme and registered names after grading :)

Now THAT I wasn't expecting! Lol

5 Gorgeous dobes in your home, sounds like heaven. In a crazy Doberman loving way!!

So happy to hear little Walter has gone to a great, loving home. How fantastic that you can still see him and keep in touch.

I'm so so happy for you! Oh, I must say I absolutely adore Sabrina's new name Aoife. Beautiful sounding name for such a pretty girl.

I would love to see a video of how you judge their conformation and grade the puppies! I grew up in 4h so judging was always a good part of it

Yes!!! I thought Aoife was going to edge out Monty on the grading, but he is my favorite so I was so torn, lol.

So excited for you!! YAY!! Belmont was my fav from the start.. they are all phenomenal but something about that boy just made me dissolve into pudding!!!! Love Aiofe's name too... Such a beautiful Dober-family you have Ainsley, and they are so lucky to have such a dedicated Momma!!

Thank you! It is a family name, which translates into "beautiful" in Gaelic. Historically Aoife was a Warrior Princess. It's now used as a traditional girl's name in Ireland ( I am first generation American).

TWO PUPPIES! Am I surprised...nope, only that you didn't KEEP ALL THREE. lol
:congrats: and :goodluck: Looking forward to watching them grow!
Thank you! Three more I couldn't do. I was willing to make an exception for two more. My house is plenty full, lol.

Congrats ! We need more pics !!
Thank you! I will try to post some tonight.

I'm surprised! Bring on the pics
Surprised that I am a dog horder, lol. Just kidding. Hahaha! I really didn't want her to go too far as she is a very nice puppy.

Sadly, I was not able to video as I had my hands busy with puppy grading. There will be other litters by my breeder (not out of my dog) and I will be involved in those. Will try to video a future grading for you.

Yes!!! I thought Aoife was going to edge out Monty on the grading, but he is my favorite so I was so torn, lol.
LOL! Me too. I was pretty torn. I love them both! I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to keep them. Aoife is the bitch version of Belmont. They are nearly identical save their sex.

Thank you! I just love my Doberkids. Belmont won my heart from day one so I totally understand his talent of melting hearts.

The name thing reminds me of what we're finding with our girl starting kindergarten. "It's Ilsa, not Elsa." "It's Eva (like "foreva") not Eva (like Eeva), not Eva (like Ayva)." And so on.

But yes, congratulations! Exciting that we'll get to be so in-touch with two of them through you!
