as for the issues of the past few days... I believe it was a necessary and important discussion and the weigh in's were pretty unanimous that they did not like what happened and how it happened...
How you propose to keep that kind of thing from happening again and will the situation with 'she is who is not to be named of 2011" be addressed?
Is she still welcome here and is she going to be warmly and apologetically invited to return? I for one and interested in knowing that and I think I am not alone...
I do wish you the best as you are a fine human being and the love of our breed is in your veins! I am behind you in support if this issue is addressed in a authentic and genuinely thoughtful way... it was hurtful for me and for others and I hope its something you personally will address because we want to know?

Maybe I missed something, but I've seen this term in the other thread and and have to admit that I don't know who you guys are referring to after the pages and pages of posts... If it should be obvious, I apologize, but I must have missed that part.... If it's Gail, yes as I said before she has always been welcome here and whoever gave us the tip about the IP is definitely something I'll check into to see if that's the issue.

Even though I said it before, all members are welcome to stay with the DCF family, and if they are some who are still having the problems logging in, I will figure it out and make it so they have the option to get in. It may take me a while longer than Von since even he has been stumped, but I'll keep going to try to get to the bottom of it. I thought I had it the one time with Breesmom, but it apparently bounced right back to where it was, so I think it's going to take a little deeper digging to figure the whole picture out.

Nothing has been or will be swept under the rug, which is why I kept those threads open for a couple of days to make sure everyone had the time to read them and voice their opinions, which I think we can all fairly say they did. If we all had the same opinion all the time the world would be a pretty boring place.

My comment was in no way relating to the final disposition of the threads but rather to the conversations within being refered to as BS. This does not infer that I agree with the final disposition of the threads, but it was not the point of my comment.

Well Sisco, my opinion is that there has been a lot of BS going on. I am not saying that people can not voice their opinion, but I truly feel that there has been a lot of overreacting. To once again quote Nupe "it's just a forum". Yes it is upsetting, but I feel that there has been some unnecessarily aggressive posts. That's just my opinion.

Well Jan, I personally was referring to Gail... My inquiry was not whether or not she was welcome here in a 'open house' kind of way, but whether or not you yourself were going to let her know that now that Fred is gone and no longer taking onus with her positions and her personal views on things... I felt it would be very well received and thought of by many, that you would personally invite her back and apologize for how that whole thing went down for her... it was articulated in one of the messages as to what I mean by that. It was a slap in the face for her to receive a PM from him and it has never been officially addressed from anyone here in a position of "power" in the forum.
Contrary to Nupe's position on what a forum means to him.... The issue is how it felt to Gail and to 26 of us who voted that in opposition to what was done and how...
It was felt as and construed as a personal attack on Gail and being that she poured her heart and soul into this place, it was no small issue and although she has let it go and moved on... because of the nature and number of people who also were offended by it, I thought it would be a rather poignant and pertinent piece of info to know that you yourself were going to make amends on behalf of the Forum to her... I wanted to know that you had the ovaries to do that because of the fact that you know how much it hurt her and how much it would have hurt YOU.. had it been YOU that the PM by Von had been sent to instead of her.
That is my inquiry... My blessings are you on because I believe you to be a fine human being as I said before and being a woman who has NO issues with the things that Gail said and or did, it seems to me that you would be the one to take the step and make the gesture, regardless of whether or not she accepted it and returned. It would be a gracious, kind, gentle, loving, and highly respected act if you did that.... it would be all of those things to me and I am sure as I said... to others.

Oh, bummer. I was looking forward to giving you high fives no matter what you scored. Get out there soon! Thanks for buying and keeping this place going Jan. I surely hope this stressful drama stops very soon,I know I wouldn't have the patience.
I'm not sure what you're supposed to apologize for either?(in what I consider a very rude and demanding tone!!)...and I sure didn't consider anything"unanimous"........and I've always understood that "the Demon situation"person was never banned,was urged over and over to come back and tell her side and chose to disappear.
That "poll" didn't have an option to choose for"I don't know all the facts so I'm not going to jump to conclusions and stir things up"so I didn't vote,I didn't feel like any of the choices fit my opinion.
I'd also like to thank Fred for all he's done to create this place,to me that pretty much gave him the right to control everything.I always figured he made it,he's got the right to run it how he wants and if I don't like it,it's my choice whether to participate or not.

For the record I did send her a PM within a day or two of everything happening and said all of those things and told her how much I respect her and all of the valuable info she's always contributed here and hoped she would continue to do so, but didn't receive a reply so I assumed she was unhappy with us and just didn't feel up to replying, which I understand too. I didn't find out until several days later that she was unable to log in, so of course that would explain why I didn't get a reply. I guess I can still try to relay it to her via a FB message so she knows my feelings on the matter though, if I haven't been dropped from her friend list.

just wanted to add that i did send some people a link for a different forum. I sent it to people that i was following.This was before i knew the story about jan/fred and the buying/selling.

At the end of the day people were going to know about it anyway. maybe just sooner rather than later.

I was well aware of the new board and I sincerely do wish them success with it. There's plenty of room for all of us out there and no doubt we'll all cover different aspects of the breed, so the more knowledge out there the better.
