Soldier Gets Companion Through Donations - Video - WGCL Atlanta
Very neat, Thanks for sharing!
So great to see another dobe doing service work!! Really, really nice to see one working with a soldier since the army has put our beloved dobes on the banned list for living on base!!
awesome - great PR for the Dobes!!!! and the service needs to take a look at their dangerous dog list!!!
thats what i thought - nice to see them in a positive light !!!!! and he is sooo cute too....
Warms the heart.....
I would like to know what organization is training dobes, that provided this serviceman with his, I LOVE IT that he has a doberman!!! - did anyone else notice the ear supports in his ears? I wonder first how old the dobe is for his ears to still need support for standing. I have a friend that has seizures and she has had several seizure dogs, her current one is a puppy and is awesome.
many organizations do not allow donations of dobermans into their service dog programs.
I seriously want to donate a pup from my 2011 summer litter to a service dog program - but so far am not having luck finding one that will accept doberman candidates.
maybe you could contact the news station in ATL ? they may be able to help you
thats so cool, i just love it
I'm not sure about where for the servicemen but I do know that Paws for a Cause trains dobes. When I was working I sent money to them every year and I would get a news letter every month and they had 2 or 3 dobes that they had given to handicap people over the years to help so they could live on their own. They're based here in West Michigan but I think they go all over the US.
that is great pr for our dobes reputation. I'll have to post this on my dobe website as well.
They have chosen the best kisser breed Thanks for sharing...it's cool.
This concept should be brought to the attention to the Euro breeders who are still destroying fawns & blues at birth. This is a waste of Dobermann and those breeders need to join the human race that holds ALL Dobermanns as value. If your not breeding for delutes and get them then its your fault not theirs (pups). There are organizations that could welcome free pure breed Dobermanns to help with their service of choice. The pups will be altered at 12 months and papers would be destroyed instead of pups. In the day that the Dobermann has so many health issue to purposely destroy pups because of color is a huge sign of breeder ego that needs to be FIXED!!!! I'm not talking about Albinoizm, the 4 colors have no issues to light deafness and other issues regarding a Albino!!! Please don't refer to Albinoizm as a color, their are NO White Dobermanns and THIS post is NOT about them. Von
It's one of the first things I noticed! I was confused thinking the dog must be fairly young to still be supporting the ears....but then I thought, wow, could they be that well trained, that young?? In any event, it looks like a match make in heaven and I think it's a wonderful thing!! Radar looks very serious and observant! Good traits. I wish every disabled person can have a service dog, even if it's not always a Doberman. To give a dog this important job is wonderful and for the person, its a life line.
That man is one lucky dude....I think he has received one of the top breeds to help him with his problems.
How great for this serviceman and for the Doberman breed. I wonder if they'll still let him on base with his service dog, though. Ugh, so stupid. I worry every time we take Spock through the gate that someone will tell us we can't.
whip a copy of Always Faithful a war dogs story at them.. Remind them how many lives were saved ....
That would be an awesome picture of the two together
Since it is a service dog they have no choice as to let him on base if they like it or not. And i know what you mean, but i think its a difference which base you go and how good you know the people there, but it still bothers me, that they ban specific breeds. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Tell that to the city of Denver and their city-wide Pit Bull ban, including service dogs!
